He’d received the reaction he was looking for— an aggravated exclamation from Rima. At times like this she was just too predictable, which made teasing her even more fun. With a small pout, Nagihiko murmured a “You’re actually really shy, aren’t you, Rima-chan." and continued on with his work.
Temari had leaned onto his shoulder to glance down at the papers in front of him before flying off to look at the flowers instead; fine by him, he didn’t need too much of a distraction and the blonde already counted as maybe five of them in his book.
Gnawing lightly at the slightly-lead stained eraser that tipped the end of his pencil, Nagi gave a possibly over-exaggerated yawn. The silence between the two had grown far past awkward, and he didn’t think she would be making conversation any time soon.
"— Are your parents going to pick you up?" Despite the fact that they were supposed enemies, he’d feel bad leaving her behind. Maybe someone in his family could let little bocchan bring a friend home. After all, a helpless little girl needing a big, strong and feminine knight was every girl’s dream, right? No, not really. It could help their relationship, though. Maybe. Yeah, probably not.
With a sigh, he rested the left side of his chin on the palm of his hand. She was a piece of work. “I could bring you home."
Feeling Nagihiko's eyes on the back of her head, Rima stopped tapping her fingertips together and opted to sit on her hands instead. She wanted to turn and glare down the boy, but that would just be playing right into his hands. Maybe?
The short girl watched Temari out of the corner of her eyes, and tried not to make another face. Her mother always told her her face would get stuck like that, and while that would be slightly humorous, it would be more humorous on someone else.
Nagi had murmured something, but Rima was too busy ignoring him. Okay, maybe ignoring him wasn't doing either of them anything, but Rima felt like it was perfectly normal to ignore an AT (Amu Thief). Ah, he was speaking again.
"Yes. I forgot to tell Mama that the meeting wasn't happening, so I'm waiting for her." Rima snapped, and it clipped the end of Nagi's sentence, almost seeming like both were one whole.
Rima knew her parents (with extreme reluctancy) would let Nagi walk with her, but she didn't want to tell him that. Since the whole exchange with her parents on that one night, they had cut her more slack about Guardians and going out into public as long as she had a friend with her.
Though, Nagihiko didn't exactly count as a friend than an unfortunate acquaintance that she saw almost everyday during (and after) school, and sometimes not even schooldays at all.
