“No it couldn’t be.” Zed tried to convince himself, but the mask was unmistakable to be anyone other than the mentally insane mass murderer that he had dedicated nearly two years hunting down leading to the death of his mentor and his banishment from Ionia. 

There was nothing and no one to stop him here, even without his weapons his blood boiled and couldnt control his impulsive action as he darted forth out from his hiding spot to grab Jhin by the collar and slammed him up against the nearest tree, holding him roughly as he stared into the soulless eyes of his enemy decided what to do with his new prey. “You bastard, too bad there’s no one to come save you this time.” He taunted

The Sovereign stepped gingerly on the uneven ground, one foot in front of the other with caution. With the utmost concentration, she advanced step by step behind the shadow master, listening carefully to the words he spoke. It seemed Zed was here longer than Syndra had been, seeing as he made his camp and any accommodated for any  provisions he might need.

“ What? There are others? ” Strange, she hadn’t seen anyone else in her time here. “ Seems you know a lot about how things are dictated around here. How long have you been stranded here yourself? ” As the berries were revealed to her, the hunger in her stomach made itself apparent with a soft growl. A slight blush stretches warms her cheeks before she reaches forward to the food offered to her, stuffing her face.

Zed couldn't hide his smirk as he watched the mighty dark sovereign scarf down the food he offered, before continuing his explanation of this mysterious forest. “I’ve never been the best at keeping track of time, but I would have to say at least a week has passed since my arrival maybe more.” The ninja was more than willing to accommodate Syndra despite perhaps being a bit of extra weight to worry about than just looking out for himself, Zed knew that if they ever found a way to release the hold this world had on their powers Syndra would be a very powerful ally and well worth the extra work of keeping her safe for now.

“Yes I’ve seen others, not many but definetly the other champions from the league seem to be the chosen participants to be dropped off here, not sure who or what is doing this but I have serious doubt they have good will towards us.”

Night had fallen quicker than the light mage anticipated and surely this awful island had a different sense of time. She had only been gone for maybe a couple hours- or maybe the rain had just hidden the crawling darkness. Foolish. This man needed her help and now was not the time to make so many mistakes-  “Ahh!”

A spare root, shrouded in the darkness and muck beneath catches her foot and Lux tumbles to the ground, catching herself on her palms. A hiss of anger meets her lips and she feels warmth flowing from her hands- curse the rocks she had caught her fall on. Despair threatened to overwhelm the mage but she takes a shaky breath and frees her foot before crawling to a stand. It was dark and she was wet and she realized she had definitely traveled way too far into the forest and lost her destination. Surely there was north star in this accursed place and as she traces the sky she sees…-

Smoke!? Smoke! Perfect! A fire! People? Was that from the stranger- it was near the mountain (which at this point was a mark in the darkness). Slowly she moves towards it, and she realizes almost ironically that she had twisted her ankle. Determination keeps her moving forward, and she ignores the pain. Sure enough she breaks the forest line and sees the fire and more importantly the man she promised to come back to help. A smile, though faint, touches her plush lips. Lux limps back to the man, her lower body covered in muck. Her hands are covered in dry blood and mud.  “I found.. I found what I needed!” She explains breathlessly and collapses to a kneel by the man’s leg. “Keep your leg straight, it’ll help it heal.” Carefully, Lux sets the makeshift bricks of food at his ankle- one on each side. “I need to tighten these boards to your leg. It’s going to be tight. It’s going to hurt a little bit as well.. But more importantly it’ll feel better and help it heal if you keep it there- the splint.”  She reaches for one of the vines thrown on the ground near her. “Are you ready?”

Zed stood as evenly as he could scanning the dark tree line as the night grew darker only illuminated by the fire now blazing near him, his eyes caught movement but it looked slow and troubled walking toward the cave he had made camp at. was it the Crownguard girl that had so graciously offered help to a stranger without a second thought, if it was he could tell by her silhouette that something was wrong with her.

 It was until she was close enough to be visible by firelight that he recognized her limping as the same he was performing with a twisted ankle, yet the look of determination on her face stirred something in Zed as he watched her bravely press on he hobbled his way to meet her halfway wrapped her arm around his shoulder leaving both there weak ankles on the inside as he helped ease her way back to the cave.

Ignoring the stain on his leg the constant walking was having his pride would not let weakness show through to Lux, when she asked if he was ready for the splint he gladly accepted trying to seem to eager. “leave enough to save your ankle too, no use fixing just one of us up.”

Sona’s eyes widened at the confession, her fingers searching the ground around her for a rock, a broken branch, anything to defend herself but she came up empty. Of course that was why she hadn’t recognised the man, the man whose identity was shrouded in mystery, but she knew enough to know he was dangerous.

But then… Why hadn’t he attempted to hurt her? It was safe to assume that he too had had his weapons stripped from him yet he could still easily overpower her - along with most who resided on this island. Her gaze searched his face, looking for any sign of his intent, but he was unreadable.

Carefully she wrote another word in the dirt, her name, before briefly gesturing to herself and then extending a hand towards him. It was risky, she knew, but if he wanted her dead he would find a way. And if he didn’t… Well, Sona could never refuse the need for help of any stranger.

On instinct Zed’s fists clenched upon her reaction of terror, expecting the usual violence that ensued from people knowing who he was. It was true the ninja could very easily defeat the women, but the shadow walker felt no ill towards the maven who had graciously feed him only moments before. His vision sensed movement and followed her hand writing her name in the sand, when her hand darted directly at him he shot up to stand in a battle ready stance prepared to fight.

Zed paused realizing the gesture was an act of peace rather than violence, he couldn’t help but admired the womens bravery for putting faith that the master of shadows would choose to help her instead of attack, under normal circumstances the ninja felt no need to take the offer of kindness from those weaker than him, but this island held many secrets and he would not be able to find his way off it by killing everything that crossed his path, after a moment of decision Zed gently took her hand in his own and shook to acknowledge there newfound alliance.

Zed slumped against the cave wall, finally able to relax on this pitifully empty island the ninja looks up to meet the gaze of his saviour as she introduced herself it dawns on Zed that she has no idea who he is, he debates if telling her his identity is really the best idea in the weakened state he was in and decided as long as she didn’t ask he wouldn’t need to blow his cover. “I am in your debt Luxanna.” He said simply. 

“Don’t worry about me, I’ve survived worse.” He explained, gesturing to the several scars lining his face with a small laugh as his eyes grew heavy with the need for sleep, seeing how he wasn’t in any immediate danger he leaned his head back against the wall and let his eyes close, before long the ninja was softly snoring.

Indeed this mysterious man had. The scars that littered his face were plentiful and she allowed her eyes to trace over them. Angry lines of pink against his flesh, this man was no stranger to combat which surely meant an adept ally if anything were to happen. Or a powerful enemy, hm? She does not turn back to watch the stranger, but she had seen the bags under his eyes. Sleep would do him good.  Earlier she had spotted some oranges from a tree in the forest, she would come back for these. She needed to be careful not to venture too deep into the forest for fear of getting lost. The pouring rain didn’t exactly help but as long as she kept the big mountain behind her, she could find the spot she had found as a temporary safety.  Luxanna searched, dropping to her knees in the mud and looking for specific length wood and vines and branches and twigs. She eventually did find several large branches which she fastened together into a flat piece. It was crude but it would work. More searching, and another piece was created. She tossed some extra vines over her shoulder to secure the pieces and made way back towards the mountain. It had taken her until sunset, and the approaching darkness was scary. She kept a level head and managed to find way back to the mountain, but more importantly the stranger. Would he still be there when she came back?

Zed was never one to sleep well or for long measures of time, a hour or two had passed when he regained consciousness taking a moment to remember where he was. The ninja say streaks of red across the sky signalling that nightfall was coming fast and worry for his newfound ally set in, knowing his leg left his in no condition to attempt a rescue mission it would also be very foolish to run around in the dark forest he didn’t know trying to find one girl, he decided on a back-up plan of making his location easier to find again hoping a simple misdirection on her journey was all that impeded her progress.

The shadow despite his injury forced himself to stand as he began collecting small leaves and branches gathering any kind of kindling in his immediate area, taking two rocks and clashing them together to produce sparks had eventually set fire  to the small leaves and twigs, pain shooting through his body with every step he forced himself to keep on gather slowly building up the fire to one that could easily be noticed from a distance, a risky plan but Zed was not worried that even in a weakened state he could handle any threat that dare approach the camp.

A flicker of anger in her eyes. Zed, saying she needed to feel powerful? Syndra did not need to feel, she knew. She was strong with her ability to will objects, not that the headdress made her strong. She snorted, laughing condescendingly.  “ Who are you to say that I am weak? What do you know of strength or weakness? It is not the ‘icons’ or what we show by physical states, but by what we control. I can control everything with my will, and what of you? Just s h a d o w s ? Hah. ”

Why was she making enemies? Even though she had been snide with him, he offered to help, to protect her. “ Just because I’m accepting your help it doesn’t mean that we should find ourselves dependant on each other. This is just for now until everything is fixed. ”

“ Now. Tell me what you know. ”

The shadow walker resisted the urge to roll his eyes remembering that he didn’t have his mask to hide his emotions like normal, dealing with Syndra and her ego was tiresome at times but it was foolish to deny what a powerful ally she was. “Come, we can talk on the way to my camp.” He told her as he swung around and started heading back the way he came to the clearing.

As he fell into step with the dark sovereign Zed began to explain what little knowledge he had been able to gather in his short time on this isle. “It’s seems everyone from the league is slowly being brought here one by one but without any of their powers or weapons, not sure who or why it’s happening but they all seem to be dropped off in one of the few forest clearings.” He couldn’t understand how everyone was being transported here but he understood only champions from the league we’re showing up, meaning the cause of this was definitely the summoners. “But this Island doesn't act natural, the weather is directed and the wildlife are sectioned, it’s as if this island is being controlled by a force that dictates everything but us.” It left the ninja with an uneasy feeling knowing he was being watched and everything around him was set in place like a performance.

He went to continue but realized he had made it back to his camp, a small thicket that was close off on most sides providing excellent protection with large branches moved to protect the more open areas, it was a work in progress but it would do for now. Zed moved a section of leaves covering a pile of various berries he had collected from the forest and grabbing a handful offered it to the dark Syndra. “Hungry?”

Something Missing// Open RP

Zed was slightly confused she didn’t seem to be scared even in the slightest in the presence of the shadow ninja, instead she seemed friendly to him as she offered an orange to him which elicited a response from his growling stomach he gladly accepted it and began peeling.

When she began moving her hand in a fashion around her face Zed realized she couldn’t speak, he knew she used her music to communicate mostly but never assumed she couldn’t actually speak, the ninja didn’t know very much sign but had learn a few phrases from missions that required the utmost silence. he place a hand on his lips and moved it outwards as he spoke. “Thank you.” he said as he began to eat the orange.

The smile on the girls face brightened instantly at his response. It was rare she came across anyone who could communicate with her at all, non verbally, or were even willing to try. Thankfully sign was not the only form she had to resort to. As he began to eat Sona settled beside him, still keeping a little distance between them. It was strange.. She knew most from the institute - if not there names then at least there faces - but he was a complete mystery to her.

As the stranger ate Sona’s gaze darted about the floor before them. Ah! There. She reached for the stick, small and sharp; hardly bigger than a quill, and began to scratch out small lines in the dirt.

Once he had finished she gestured towards him. attempting to catch his eye, before pointing to the words on the ground.

‘Who are you?”

Zed felt much better after eating, his body had been trained to survive long periods without anything but it was always refreshing to not be starving. He noticed movement in his peripheral and glanced over to the writing on the ground asking his identity, the ninja hesitated as he realized why she was so unafraid of approaching him is because she had no idea who he was without his mask.

Zed paused for a moment as he looked over the girl trying to gauge her reaction, would she run, flee from the monster the stories had turned his image into, or would she attack knowing he had no weapons and only his hands to defend himself. The ninja took a breath as he prepared for the worst.

“My name is Zed...”

His gratitude felt strained, Lux noted as the man leaned into her.  “Don’t worry about it!”

It takes them a bit to finally get to the dry area, it’s nothing fancy but she can’t help but to smile when she sees it come into view. The rocky face of the mountain extends suddenly above the two, and the rain drips from the length of the rocks above. A roof, of sorts. Carefully, Luxanna lowers the man to a seating position with his back up against the wall of the cliff.  “There. Lux, by the way! Luxanna Crownguard if you’re stuffy.” She grins, though the gesture doesn’t quite touch her eyes. “I’m.. not sure why you are here in this desolate island like I am…” Trailing off, she brushes her wet hair from her view. “Now I’m gunna head off into the forest again,” she twirls and gestures a muddied hand to the area in front of them. “I’ll find you some food, and i’ll find some stuff to make a splint for you. Are you okay if I leave you here and come back?”

[OOC: Rolled a 1 :(] -Crack- As he sailed through the air he had time to think,  “Should have known Zed would hit me from behind!”

The unwary assassin skidded to a halt face first in the dirt, falteringly he stood, blood running down his forehead and he spat a mixture of blood and dirt to the floor.

It would take more than that though and he darted forward, Zed’s blow had told him one thing at least. The shadow was unarmed like he was, and powerless too.  As he stepped into range Talon ducked low before leaping up, aiming a vicious uppercut at his opponents face.

Zed watched with a smirk as the famed assassin was knocked headfirst to the ground below, he was surprised how open he left himself it was almost as if the assailant wasn’t prepared to fight. “why else would he track me down the second I got here if not to press an advantage.” He muttered to himself.

The ninja didn’t have much time to dwell as he noticed his opponent was no longer in his sights, Zed hurridly scanned the area berating himself for letting his guard down. Talon didn’t remain hidden for long as Zed had little time to react to his sudden appearance as his mouth was slammed shut from a fist smashing squarely into it, the force knocking him off his branch as he tumbled back wards to land stomach first on a lower branch, knocking the wind out of him.

Flipping himself up as he caught his breath the ninja would not allow himself to be so easily outdone, locking eyes with his opponent he lept to action at the branch he stood on grasping it with both hands and using his momentum to swing under and aim a kick into the assassin’s back.

Everything in Zed’s body was wishing for him to rest but the rain’s harsh downfall prevented him from even a moments respite, a small voice broke through the harsh sounds of the storm and Zed remembered he was not alone but was unable to defend himself in his exhausted state he opened his eyes to see a face staring back at him, one that he actually recognized. 

He felt the light mage place a hand on his shoulder as she spoke calmly about sharing her shelter with him, Zed’s body agreed with the idea of getting out of the storm and he forced himself into a sitting position to better face the Crownguard women as Zed pondered when she  would offer such a thing to him, surely Demacia’s ideals asked her to be kind but she didn’t even seem worried at the thought of offering safety to the banished ninja. “I think I twisted my ankle.” He admitted to her, not in much of a position to try and lie.

Lux moves out of the ninja’s way as he sits himself back up. Strands of silver were made thick and glossy with the constant rain, and she realized she had no idea who this strange man with the scars about his features was. Had only Rift battlers been summoned to this desolate island? Or were the summoners doing it to the people of Runeterra as well? Why did something feel off about this guy though.. some deep urge in her chest told her she should have ignored the collapsed stranger but that wasn’t the Demacian way, now was it? “Hrm…” Her noise of thought is soft, a beacon in the storm. “I can make you a brace to keep the ankle in place when the storm passes. I’ll help you stand.” Luxanna gets to her feet, extending a muddied hand to the stranger. “ Put your swollen foot on my foot and lean your body weight into me as you step, it’ll hurt less. It’ll still hurt though, mind you. It’s just a bit away.”

Zed hesitated at the offer of kindness, the ninja knew of her position in Demacia as the master tactician and debated the possibility of her friendliness to be a ruse to lure the ninja into a trap, but  her ankle left him without much of a choice but to put his faith into her.

 “...Thank you” The words felt strange coming from his mouth as hadn’t needed to say the phase in quite some time, taking the women outstretch hand he carefully hoisted himself to balance with most of his weight on his good foot with the other delicately on Lux’s leaning himself into her as she had instructed, biting his tongue as pain shot through his leg with every step they took.

Appalling.

Having to go around without her headdress had Syndra in frustration. She couldn’t been seen like this! Her headdress was her pride, wearing it in rebellion of what Ionia’s standard was, and wearing it towards the front of her head instead of the behind. Hmph. At least her hair was okay. Running her fingers through the thick strands of hair, Syndra attempted to fix what she could of the mess.

Already knowing she couldn’t use her powers, she was stressed. She’d have to walk. Peering down, her feet were small, delicate, and unprotected from the harsh environment. She winced slightly but her expression remained unwavering. With a furrowed brow, she sat herself up, then onto both of her feet.

A voice came from behind her, the darkness and solemnity obvious and familiar. “And you say this like you have all the answers to my questions.” Sarcasm, of course. The Sovereign turned around to get a glimpse of Zed, someone familiar in this estranged place, only to be unexpectedly greeted by the lack of his mask.

“Heavens, look at you. Feeling a little vulnerable without the mask?” Her voice was mocking, but couldn’t hold. She felt the same without her own headgear.

Even after being thrown into a new world without a single ounce of power she still managed to retain her arrogance. “Perhaps, but unlike some people I don’t require icons to feel powerful.” He replied with a small smirk as he approached to look her over, seeing the dark sovereign without her armour confirmed to Zed that no one who arrived on the isle was allowed to bring anything with them.

“Here I was about to offer my help to you, but how foolish of me to assume you couldn’t handle things even without your powers.” The ninja knew Syndra’s harsh tone toward him was a facade to protect her image, he sympathized with the hatred of feeling weak on this isle. “I’ve set up camp not to far from here, if you feel so inclined to join me it’ll be a lot safer than standing in this open clearing.” He offered.

Zed sat up when he sensed movement and his instincts immediately going to ready his blade only to be reminded of it’s absence, Zed’s eyes spotted a figure emerge from the forest and nearly collapse at the edge of the pond. It took the ninja a moment to recognize the maven without the usual accompaniment of music and magic floating with her. 

Zed realized that he wasn’t the only champion to be thrown into this new world and everyone must have also had their power stolen from them, Zed knew that without her powers sona was even less of a threat to him than usual but he decided that fighting the first person he discovered probably was not the best plan, waving back he decided he would play nice… for now.

Her other hand made a quick motion from the side of her head and mouthed a hello, though she doubted he would be able to communicate with her it was always worth a shot.

The rain was pouring heavily down now and zed was drenched head to toe as he stumbled his way through the mucky mud the forest floor had turned into, the ninja’s legs threatened to give out underneath him as he desperately searched for shelter before he collapsed in the middle of the ever growing storm. In the distance he spotted a small cliff side that would be perfect for getting out of the cold till the storm passed.

Upon arriving at the underpass he realized he was not the first person to seek shelter from the storm as his eyes fell upon the form of a small blonde women holding herself for warmth, he started to  step towards her as he felt a sharp pain in his leg from all the strain of walking as he roughly fell to the ground, barely having time to brace himself with his arms as he rolled onto his back with a loud groan of pain.

Luxanna Crownguard slept and dreamed. Her dreams were filled with the warmth of home, of Demacia. Subconsciously she couldn’t stop thinking of her brother, of King Jarvan. What would happen if her brother and Garen and Galio and Xin had been sent here to the Isles as well. Perhaps the Summoners had only taken a single representative from each respective homeland and placed them here in this game. At least than Garen would be safe, and her King and her people as well..  Thud.

The noise is almost drowned out by the rain but even in her defenseless state she was quick to jolt awake, the sudden sound startling and causing her heartbeat to pound behind her ears. The scene is almost the same as when she had drifted into slumber, though a form laid out several feel before her. Another combatant? He was clad in black cloth, and she noted his silver hair. A stranger. Dangerous.. The tactician, thorough as always weighed her options at once. This was a potential ploy to take advantage of Lux… Or the more likely answer was that this guy had been in the same boat as Lux. Lost. Cold. Angry. Struggling, Lux stands and moves towards the man laying on his back.

The rain pours and the blonde kneels. The sky almost seems to split with thunder and lightning. This storm was dangerous.  “Are you alright?” Even through the rain she manages to keep her voice gentle, and stern. Slowly she reaches a hand towards the man’s shoulder to coax him and get his attention. “Can you move? Just up ahead there is a place to hide from the rain.”

Zed had set up a small makeshift camp not to far from the clearing in which new arrivals seemed to appear, it had taken his a while of bashing two stones together to set fire to the collection of twigs and branches he had gathered when he heard the thud of an arrival at the clearing, it was the same thud he heard when he had found himself left in this forest. The ninja quickly blew out his fire and began making his way to the clearing to see who it was.

Upon arriving he sat at the edge of the tree line to make out who it was before he decided a plan of action, all his thought was thrown out when he recognized the silver haired women as his ally Syndra, Zed was so caught up in expecting it to be yet another person he’d have to stand against the ninja was relived to see a familiar face, Zed made his way into the clearing to reveal himself. “Hello Syndra, you probably have a lot of questions.”

The subtle knife of Noxus stood at the forest’s edge, looking up at the cloudless sky, the stars here looked different. He shivered, just how far from home was this place. A shooting star crossed from East to West.

“Hmph, another new arrival huh”

He clenched his fist; wishing, not for the first time, that he had his blades back. Still, it would be rude not greet his new neighbour. Talon sped through the trees, he had a pretty good feel for how the arrival process worked now, he’d seen half a dozen. He was sure that the clearing was where they would have appeared. It would take him 7 minutes to get there at this pace, he might even get the drop on them if they were slow. His breathing was measured and even as he kept up the pace.

As he finally broke into the clearing, it seemed as if there was no sign of anyone, could he have been mistaken. Then a feeling came over him, there was only one member of the league that made him feel this way…. “Looks like I’m not the only shadow they’ve sent here… Zed”

Zed awoke with a start even though it hadn’t felt like he had been sleeping before, the ninja sat himself up to get a gather on his surroundings as it was clear he wasn’t in Ionia anymore. He didn’t have much time to figure things out as his senses alerted him to rapidly approaching movement coming towards him, he bolted into action without a second thought and took cover in the shades of the trees.

As he hid the noises came closer until he saw a flash of movement above him he silently climbed  up into the branches above to follow whoever it was that needed to greet the ninja upon his arrival in this new land, sneaking up behind the figure he heard the unmistakable voice of Talon talking and a anger boiled through Zed’s body, the Noxian assassin must have been here to kill the arrival before they even had a chance to gather themselves. It was at the point of planning an attack zed noticed he was without weapon but saw that Talon appeared to be without one too, without anymore hesitation the ninja launched himself off the branch he was standing on as he reared his fist back to strike directly at the back of the assassin’s head.
