“Lovely to meet you, Alejandra,” he repeated, ignoring the little nickname. He did not want to be usual, did not want to act as usual people did. Velius could only ever be more than that, at least to the ones he chose. To her. For what he wanted did not come easy, and it did not come without enchantment of the grandest kind.
“I’m Velius,” he said and cast her a sideways smile. His eyes, though dark, twinkled with something. A secret behind the glass. And he begged her with his stare to meet his and see that there was more without knowing what. Then, as if he hadn’t been looking deep-as-ocean, he did a little skip in his step.
“So! This coffee shop. Tell me, do they do the fancy stuff or your basic cup o’ joe?”
oh, no. there it is again, a hint of something that reminds her of someone she shouldn’t be thinking of. it makes her heart flutter and her stomach tie itself up into a knot. alejandra... damn it. when she speaks, she does it through a smile that’s not forced, but that doesn’t quite reach her eyes, and she has to talk through a lump in her throat.

the smile turns bashful. an easy thing to happen, with this one.
“ oh, it’s got regular coffee! but i always get something sweet; i really can’t say no to whipped cream. “
