Art Walk Friday in Portland Maine. We went out for the first time this season to the monthly art walk. I skipped the street vendors as it has become very flea market oriented with people just selling junk to make money or to pay rent for the week. Instead we visited the PMA which had a wonderful exhibit and was not quite full. It was comfortable enough to breeze through each floor. The works were beautifully curated on all floors.
I have not added notes to this blog in quite a while. Life has taken me through some rough patches since my last post. A bout with breast cancer, a double mastectomy, more and more health issues culminating in quite a health scare three weeks ago. I have not returned to Oz since 2018 thanks to a pandemic and now some rough times we are enduring in the USA. Nonetheless, my heart lives in that far away land that I love. Summers are still spent in Maine. And soon in less than a year, I move up north to our land in this state. Retirement is months away and the third act of life is soon to arrive for me. I look forward to more time to enjoy my art , my writing and being present in this world. A life well lived is the goal as I culminate my last year of twenty five as a college professor. On to better days, free from everyday pressures and hassles. Free to let my spirit roam as it wills like it always has. Being present, grateful in a state of calm , peace and joy. Past and present photos collide along with some new hobbies and examples of my art . I have returned to writing journals and delving in to the stationary world of travelers notebooks and fountain pens. I live in that quiet space of my mind where words are insufficient to express my feelings and thoughts. Silence and quiet is place and space I prefer.
