Is the peppermint syrup only available in the Christmas time? I was looking at a site with a secret menu and the ones I like require the peppermint syrup

Well, typically, a lot of shops will have peppermint drinks for the winter holidays but some stores will have it year round for specialties. By mentioning secret menu and syrup (not all shops use syrup) I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're asking about Starbucks secret menu. This brings up an important topic that I will make a post about soon. :]- PM

Hello wonderful people!

Please excuse our absence! It’s been a wild ride for both MB and I since Christmas. It’s amazing how fast the year is going by already. I’ll be answering a couple questions today and getting back into the swing of things.

Calling all Baristas working Christmas!

I just want to say that if you are working Christmas at the coffee shop keep one thing in mind. It's Christmas morning, it's a special day for many. There are going to be customers, new or regular, that will come in and order one drink or maybe even ten. It's going to be busy and maybe a tad bit stressful but there's something you can do to make it worthwhile.

Realize that everyone is extremely aware that you are working on Christmas. These customers made the decision to come to your shop to get their coffee. They're most likely getting coffee for their family, a little treat for everyone on a Christmas day. 

If you have to be the one to serve them make it a point to show that you'd rather be the one working than someone who didn't want to be there. Let's serve it to them with a smile and make sure their Christmas starts off right.

I know we have all had the: "Hi, could I get a latte?" "Sure what si--" "And a muffin" "Sorry, what size was the latte?" "Um, oh I don't know, tall?" "Sorry, small, medium or large?" "Regular" **Breathes deeply** "Small. Medium. Or large." "Tall."

Hahaha, we've definitely experienced that! It can be especially confusing though as a customer when a lot of stores have different names for their sizes.

When MB and I get Starbucks customers we wait for them to just say it and ask them if they meant "small" when they said "tall." The hard part is when they meant "large" instead. That's probably in the top ten of our Barista Problems now that I think about it...
