FINAL PUBLICATION

Front and Back Cover for Publication:
To make the cover, I traced a world map using coloured felt tip pens, then stitched xās on the locations we had all chosen to explore and photoshopped our names and publication title in. I used the colours and shades of green and blue to match the colours and mapping theme chosen for the rest of the publication.Ā
Experiment No 4:Ā
In this experiment, I printed an image of the Ta Prohm Temple onto Fabric (a method I discovered earlier in the semester) and then used hessian string to ātraceā the fig trees in the image. I hand stitched the string onto the fabric. I really enjoyed this experiment and how it turned out. I really like how the use of the string emphasised the fig trees with its 3D effect.Ā
Experiment No 3:Ā
More images of the Car Graveyard in Chatillon, Belgium and same method as in experiment no 2.Ā
Experiment No. 2:
Experimenting with using materials including calico, paint, felt, yarn and thread. I was attempting to create the image of the world largest Car Graveyard located in Chatillon, Belguim.Ā
Experiment No. 1:
Using only magazine scraps, I experimented with creating an image of the HMAS Karangi Ship in Homebush bay. I made a few photoshop edits including Ā blending the colours in the water to make it look more like the sea.Ā
Assessment Task 3- Research
For our Publication, we decided to look at theĀ ānowā of places that have been taken over by nature. The history, stories, locations and the unknown of the places were very fascinating and interesting to explore.Ā
(p.s finally worked out a very inconvenient way to make a post with images on tumblr but with only a max of 4 images! )
Tumblr deciding to make things just a little bit more difficult....
group meeting today to compile all our experiments into the publication!!
weāve decided to go with a theme of maps as a way to link all of the works together @kathrynadad1002 @barlow2016studiogateway
more experiments for the publication :)
initial experiments for our publication - working with representing abandoned places around the world
Historical photo of flooding in Camden that I have collaged. Ā The buildings of Camden have evolved over time however, flooding has still occurred in the Camden area as Camden has been classified as a high flooding area. The past effecting the ānowā as flooding still occurs today and affects all who live there.Ā
research beginnings
Our group has decided to focus on āruinsā as our topic - sort of as a weird concept of something that is fading from the ānowā, that isnāt a part of it anymore but still sort of is
Iāve found some AMAZING photos of ruins all over the world - here are some of my favourites
An abandoned shopping centre in Bangkok:
IM Cooling Tower, Belgium
Abandonded House, Namibia (!!OBSESSED with this one!!)
Abandoned Train Station, Abkhazia, Georgia
Underwater City in Shicheng, China
House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, Bulgaria (this one is insanely creepy)

Video Experiment

Places where nature has taken over:
In this experiment, I was exploring places that have been taken over my nature. I wanted to explore the locations and getting a virtually reality look at the place using google maps. The video is a recording of this exploration. It was quite an interesting way to find out about a place, especially where is was and what it looked like.Ā
Experimenting with Text:
I photographed various title pages of books by the same author Jean Piaget. Using these photographs I layered them on photoshop to create a collage. Some of the page eventually fade as more pages are layered on top. Ā
