"It’s nice” Eric nods with a grin. “So, I was actually on my way to work and I probably should get there soon– but it was very nice to meet you Rainie Beau.”

“That’s so adorable!” The Sugar Racer gave Max one last loving pet, before holding out her hand for the man to shake. “I’m Rainie. And I love your dog a lot.” She said, with a small giggle.
Though his eyes are set on the dog and its short interaction with the other, he does come to meet her eyes with a smile as he gives her hand a light shake. “Pleased to meet you Rainie, I’m Eric.” He starts with a chuckle. “That’s a curious name, does it come with a special meaning?”

Aladdin perked up knowing Eric remembered him. That meant he left a good impression the last time. He was too proud of himself that he hadn’t realized he might have disturbed the swimmer. Aladdin was unsure if he should admit he rarely went to the gym and today he just happened to be so bored that the gym was the only that sounded good. “Actually I just found myself a trainer a while ago.” He lied. “Seeing that I’m extending my stay here in Carthay, I might as well get a trainer set up. Can I get your honest opinion, this is place worth it? Don’t want to waste too much money.”
There was somethign about the man. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on, but he was well aware of its being there. He remembered the party and his name and part of their interaction, but he definitely remembered that something that made him all not too sure whether he enjoyed his company or not. He’d blamed it on the vodka back then but now what excuse was there? “Oh! That great well–” Eric replied, followed by a nod. He wasn’t exactly expecting this kind of conversation. “I mean I think it’s pretty nice– not too expensive, I believe? I guess... it depends on what you like to do."

“A fast learner and very enthusiastic?” The woman repeated with a wide and open smile on her face. “Well, if that isn’t two things that I love hearing from a newly employed employee.” Cass commented, a bit amused by his words despite how she wouldn’t have been bothered regardless of whether he had said them or not. “Alright, I’ll just have to give you a quick rundown of the basics once we arrive— was gonna do so regardless of whether you did have former experience or not, but it would have been good if you did. Either way, don’t worry, it’s not much you’ll need to know.”
There some strange... joy about the situation. A joy that he certainly never feels whenever he’s on his way to his actual job. Was it a sign? Was the universe trying to tell him something? Maybe so. Who would’ve though his heart was so passionate about working on a café? With a chuckle, he nods and continues to walk along the woman and her cat. “I’m sorry, I grew up spoiled and skipped the waiting experience.” He confesses in a jokingly manner– though that doesn’t really make statement any less true. “But I’d like to think it’s better late than never.”

“Some progress is better than no progress at all.” She commented, as she crossed her arms over the counter of the bar. For a split moment, Jane hadn’t been expecting him to respond to her as it seemed like he had been fully into what he was doing, but now that he did she gladly returned the smile. “May I ask what kind of record are you attempting to achieve? You’ve been swimming and timing yourself for a while now, so it must be something serious I’m assuming?”
“Wise words”, The man replies with a nod. His heart maintains a rather fast speed, through he can feel it slowing down a bit with every breath he takes. However with every breath, the muscles on his neck and back seem to tense up from all their time spent in the water. To this, Eric proceeds to gently roll his shoulders up, back and down as he turns to face Jane– fully engaged in the conversation. “I’m afraid it’s nothing that special.” He continues with a chuckle, “I’m just trying to beat my personal best from last month. I think my age is finally catching up.”

Rainie began to pet the dog again. “He’s adorable.” She let him lick her face, giving a big laugh. “Yes, I was talking about you, you cutie.” She gratefully took the man’s hand, and pulled herself up. She quickly brushed herself off. “What’s his name?”
Max rejoices with the other’s attention, Eric simply stands there and watches with an easy smile and a playful roll of eyes at the big old dog. “His name is Max.” He answers with a nod, “He’s getting old but I think he’s loving meeting strangers more and more. I’ve had to drag him away from people at least three times this week.”

L: How often do they post on their social media accounts?
Like once every month. He texts a lot and will post something on instagram every now and then, but he doesn’t really care for the rest of his phone’s apps.
O: How much have they changed in the past five years?
It might look like he hasn’t changed at all, because his character is pretty much the same. But in the past five years he’s learned a whole lot about himself. He’s found things he’s really passionate about and met people that have really changed the way he looks at the world. He wouldn’t say he’s a new man, but he’s definitely evolved into a better version.
C: If they had to pick one sport to play/watch which would it be?
It’s a tie between swimming and sailing.

Rainie had just been enjoying her run, taking a deep breath, a grin on her face at the salty sea air. She stopped to take in the beautiful view, and suddenly, she saw a huge dog coming running at her! She managed a squeak, and braced herself for the impact. The dog knocked her down, but she managed to laugh it off. She began to pet the dog. “Hey there buddy!” She looked up into the face of the man whose dog it was. “Is he yours?” She asked, an amused look on her face.
"He is mine, unfortunately.” Eric agrees with a nod and a very apologetic smile once he comes to stand only a few steps away from the victim. “Come on boy!” He calls out, clapping a hand in order to settle down his dog’s current hyperactivity. It does the trick... a little. Max freezes in place upon hearing his owner’s command and slowly glances his way– only to shrug it off a couple of seconds later and continue to make the acquaintance of the girl. With a sight, he then adds. “I’m sorry, let me help you up.” The man comes to step closer and offers his hand.

Swizz waited patiently as Eric slowly worked it out for himself. “Nah, it’s similar though. Tamagotchi was like extreme parenting and your pet dies if you neglect it. In Neko Atsume, you just lay some food and cool toys out, and then cats will come and you have to take pictures of them. It’s way less stressful.”
" Ah! ” It’s safe to say Eric feels very old in this moment. Even if he’s not, even if the actually reason why he appears so clueless on the subject is because he was never really a gamer himself. “ Sounds less stressful. Does it... have like a goal or is it just collecting cats until you’re bored?”

ella often found herself in the pool either in the early morning or late into the evening, and this just happened to be one of those days. she had been desperate for a little stress relief after the day she’d had with her sisters; it’d been exhausting ! now, as she wrapped a towel around herself, she noticed a familiar looking man… eric ! it was eric on the other side of the pool. the blonde approached as he looked to his watch. “ how did you do ? ” she asked with a gentle smile adorning her brims. “ also, hi, stranger. ”
Her voice is a surprise as he looks up with wide eyes. He still keeps a finger on the watch’s round edge, but he’s no longer entirely taken by it. With a chuckle, he greets the other and with a smile he gives a small nod and takes another quick glance at the numbers on the watch. “ A little worse than yesterday! Must be the years finally catching up with me. ” This, he states with glee; though most of it is actually true. “ Lovely to make your acquaintance once more, Miss Ella. ”

A chuckle escapes him right before his hands come to rise before him: Just above the water, a symbol of his meaning no harm. “ Okay okay! ” He starts, lively. “ I’m not going to make you do anything you don’t want to. ” His attitude is still very much playful; however it softens a little as the words leave his mouth and he comes to lean back against one of the pool’s lanes. “That’s some solid advice though... nothing I can really picture my coach saying but– it actually makes sense. You know I think I’ve seen you around before but what’s your name?”

With all this new free time, Aladdin found himself at the gym. It was a great way to just waste the day. This new life had it’s up and downs. And the downs were that he had all this time on his hands without a need of a job. Making his way inside, Aladdin cut by the pool. It was a beep that rang through the place that got him to spot Eric at the edge of the pool. Aladdin met Eric only once at one of Kit’s parties. Other than that, he hadn’t had a chance to talk to the man. Until now. Once Eric looked up, Aladdin waved towards him. “Hey.” Making his way over, Aladdin met with Eric at the edge of the pool. “You’re Kit Charming’s friend? I’m Ali, we met at a party.”
It’s honestly rare to spot Eric at the pool casually making conversation. Though he’s usually pretty chatty and friendly– whenever he’s got his googles on and a timer on his right hand... his mind takes him back to his competing days and the rest of the world just seems to fade away. So when Ali casually approaches him right after the end of his timed swim, he’s almost startled. “Hey” The man breathes out, slowly coming back to his senses. “Ali, yeah I remember. I didn’t know you trained here.”

Volunteering at the pool wasn’t the most common of volunteering work that Jane tends to do, especially when it was something as simple as help with the concessions. However, it was the middle of the summer and the pool finds itself being overfilled with multiple citizens of Carthay and thus, finding itself in need of a few extra hands even if it was with feeding them, and so Jane ultimately decided to take up the position. Besides, it gave her the ability to be at the pool for free, and she’ll admit, observing people as they enjoy themselves while swimming was a pleasant sight for her during where she stood behind the snack bar. Currently, she was viewing a man who seemed to be timing himself as he swam. “Still not there yet?” She questioned after watching him exhale a sigh.
"Still not there.” Eric shakes his head with a smile, arms now resting on the pool’s edge. His eyes meet the source of the voice and he offers half a smile. “I was only a few seconds short though, so that’s progress.”

“I thought you might say that.” Cass remarked with a faint chuckle. Granted, there was the slight concern of Eric’s dog potentially tackling someone during the middle of their dinner, or even attempt to steal their food, but she had faith that his dog will stay well-behaved even while she has Eric busy. And as of right now, Max seemed completely well-behaved as it is. Finally picking up her bike, the woman gently placed Mochi back into his basket before turning back towards the young man. “Have you had any experience working for a restaurant before?” Cass suddenly asked as they walked their way towards the direction of her cafe.
"Uhh... No.” Eric confesses, walking beside the other. “But I’m a fast learner... and very enthusiastic?” His smile grows, secretly hoping it’ll make the other overlook his lack of experience in restaurants.

Phillip and Eric share the top spot, I can’t put one before the other. Ella. I think Zarina is making her way up there, even though she might not like me saying that. I can’t pick a fifth.
