Kenna knew that she had to Bash about the fact that it had been weeks since her missed cycle, but she wanted to be sure that it was special. Having his arms around her though had her truly questioning just how long she could hold off before bringing it up to him. “There’s quite a bit that you’ve missed,” she mused quietly leaning her head against his shoulder as she looked up at him in contentment. He was a better husband than she had ever allowed herself to consider dreaming of having, and there was no question for her that he would be a better father than he had and maybe possibly even better than her own. Although her own was wonderful so it wasn’t as if she ever knew what it was like to have a bad father, and their child would never know either. “I think the next year will be bringing the next generation of royals running around the castle.”
“I’m sure you have a list of all the gossip I missed out on to tell me.” Bash teased affectionately. If there was one thing he knew of his wife, it was Kenna’s uncanny way of always knowing exactly what was happening not only in court, but any royals she possibly could. It was impressive and he knew there was no way to imagine her any differently. Not that he would want to, even if he could. “I heard rumors a new heir is on the way.” It was hard not to - people in their world enjoyed gossiping, especially when it came to Mary for some odd reason. “I take it that’s true?” Bash asked, making a note to seek out Francis even sooner than he already planned. “Wait.” He murmured, brow creasing as his wife’s words settled in. A new generation could very well mean another of Francis’ children, but he suddenly had a feeling perhaps that wasn’t true. Sebastian pulled away just slightly, enough to look down at his wife, arms still secure around her. “Kenna, are you trying to tell me something?”
