Do you have any top 5 ships👀??? (From like any fandom or maybe 1 in specific idfc) but im kinda interested on knowing if you have like more than one fav ship or maybe some you like :)))
ANON I'M SO SORRY IT TOOK ME FOREVER TO REPLY TO THIS i was so excited to talk about my otps that i just. never did. sorry yeah
anyway to get on the question!!! i've loved many ships in my life so i will stick to the top 5 most recent in my life (this is not me ranking my love for them JSYK)
If you follow me you have most likely seen these guys. And if you don't, you might have seen them anyway. Skwistok. God. Despite being one of the fandom's most popular ships (?) I maintain it's underrated as fuck. Incredible pairing, their potential is infinite and their relationship is cosmic!!! Soulmates entrapped in guitarist players. Somehow, they adore each other but the other doesn't know that. In fact, not even they themselves know that. Their love was fated and they're bound for eternity in ways they can't accept yet. They will get there though. I've gotten cancelled in this god forsaken fandom so many times but I still kept writing and loving them because that's how powerful they are!! Skwistok forever!!!
Demonic ship btw. I still sometimes wonder if I truly ship it or I just simply have eyes to see what's going on. Like you don't really need anything else but a functioning brain to understand Macdennis is a thing (negatively) (homoerotically). The evolution of their relationship through the season is deeply fascinating if not slightly upsetting to watch. Kind of a sadomasochist thing like I love it but I'm also deeply horrified by the extents of it. Truly the exemplification of 'are they lovers' 'worse' meme. I miss them already the latest season was fucking great.
The original puppetmaster. Kyman has been haunting my brain as far as my 11 year old self witnessing 'Smug Alert' for the first time and wondering what was the tremor in her chest as Cartman saved Kyle from certain death. Did I say I got in trouble in the MTL fandom? Well in the South Park fandom it's a federal crime to ship Kyman. Or was, anyway, not sure what's going on anymore. I've gone to hell and back for those guys but it was also my most productive time in fandom, spawning from consistent fic writing to projects like zines, animatics, etc. These guys poured inspiration into me constantly, it was overflowing and neverending. I don't think I'll ever reach that level of craziness for anything fandom related ever again. And that's okay!! I would not be able to sustain that level of devotion anymore. They will always be special to me, though. Always.
Somehow this is always the image I use of them....but yeah, Reddie. Wow. The ending of It Chapter 2 hit me like a brick that I had pretty much caught a sighting off a hour ago. Like I had a feeling I knew, I was pretty sure I did, and yet it still impacted with the force of a thousand heartbreaks. I've had many doomed yaois but this one got me good. Childhood friends + repressed homosexuality + 27 years old timeskip is one hell of a cocktail and I downed it without hesitation. So fucking good. I'm enamored with that feeling, the 'we could've had it all but we didn't know' curse. It's so good, it's so sad, it's tragic...yet Reddie themselves were hilarious up until the end...I hope Andy isn't lying about that extended Chapter 2 version because I'm still waiting for that!!
Childhood friends. Again. But this time they were also child soldiers, binded through trauma and tragedy. And yet, the friendship...the bond...persists. I think the way they tried to cope with their lives and carry on, is beautiful. The way they hold each other to be a constant in their lives. The bickering of people that have known each other since so long that there's no need to reassure each other of the importance in one another's lives. They're fucking vastly underrated in my opinion, even by canon itself. The best friends ever, surviving and thriving in the only ways they know. They should also kiss, as a treat.
