Analysis of 3D animations
BACKGROUND
âEntrance  examination â is created by a couple in the Chengdu province of China ââBoqing Tang and Xiaolan Zeng .After the failure of starting a business, they spent about 15 months to finish this work by themselves with five computers. Their excellent work receives supreme reputation.

THE STORY PARADIGM
Set up
Three mouses were going to take the entrance test of being good thieves. The task for them was to steal eggs on a basket ,hanging from the ceiling.
Plot point one
The mouse failed to get the egg and got hurt by accident . The examiner got angry with this situation.
Plot point two
After a failure , three mouses realised the essence of martial arts and stole eggs successfully.
The ending
Three mouses passed the entrance test and the eligible thieves.
It is universally acknowledged that  the head of mouse is smaller than its body. However, in this film , the head is designed more specific and bigger than its body.
It is useful to show the different facial expressions clearly. In addition, it makes the character more interesting and lovely.
Besides, the costume of three mouse is full of the elements of Chinese martial arts, which symbolises Chinese traditional culture.
In this short film, three mouse and the examiner are anthropomorphic characters. They have the facial expression and some coherent gestures, although there is no words of them , the audiences can understand the meaning of their action and feel fluctuation of their emotion.
The pace of background music is also changed frequently with the development of the plots. When the mouse fights for the eggs , it always starts along with strong beats.
The close-up
The close-up shots are used several times in this film, especially at the important plot points. For example, When the mouse wants to steal the eggs , there is a close-up of rat-trap, which means it is going to go across this obstacle. when the mouse gets hurt , there is also a close-up of its grimace.
ECU
There are some extreme close-up shots in this animation. Â For instance, the extreme close-up of the examinerâs eye is to show his anger. Besides, the ECU of the mouseâs smirk suggests that it has found the secret of stealing eggs.
God shot
When the mouse fights with the stone and chopsticks falling from the sky , there is a god shot, which is used to present its vigorous action.
âLa Lunaâ , an American computer-animated short film by Pixar Animation Studios, which was nominated for the 84th Academy Awards for Best Animated Short in 2012.

The story describes a young boy  in a boat named La Luna (the moon) with his father and grandfather. He is going to learn how to sweep the stars and clean the moon as his job. With his own effort, he becomes an independent worker in the end.
Set up
The young boy seats in a boat with his father and grandfather.
Plot point one
They reach in front of the moon. The young boy climb up to moon through a ladder. His father and grandfather start to teach him how to clean the moon with sweeping the stars.
Plot point two
Suddenly,  a gigantic star lands, and pieces the surface. The two elders try to lift the huge star  to now avail. Then,the young boy gets a small hammer and climbs to the top of the star and taps it. The big star breaks up into little stars.
The ending
They finish their job successfully and the young boy is praised for his innovation.

The father and grandfather ââ experienced, stubborn, care for the child
At the beginning of the story , the young boy do not have a clear direction about how to work. Therefore,he has no idea but to imitate the action of the two elders. However, his  father and grandfather always have different opinions and quarrel with each other. Finally , the young boy becomes an independent worker with his own innovation. The story shows that it is essential for us to have our unique ideas and learn to create new stuffs instead of imitating the action of ancestors or others.
The narrative is expressed by facial expressions and body language.The main character of this film is the young boy.There are many details is designed for him. At first, the young boy is confused about what to do and just follows the ideas of his father and grandfather. Taking the hat as an example, two elders struggle with how to wear the hat. The young boy has no idea but to stare at them. However ,after he solves the problem by himself , he decides to wear the hat back-to-front, which symbolises that he becomes more mature and independent. Â Â
The wide shot
The wide shots in this film describe the environment and the surroundings, which create a warm and quiet atmosphere.
The god shot of the boy who is staring at the large star presents the comparison between boy and the star to highlight the enormous  scale of the star.
The god shot of the boat is also used to show the giant scale of sea.
BACKGROUND
The short film is directed by James (Kyungmin) Woo and produced by Alfred Imageworks made in South Korea, the film is stupendously polished, featuring slick character work and smooth 3D.

THE STORY PARADIGM
The story describes  a space delivery man called Johnny who travels to different planets to deliver packages.But when he lands on a tiny planet, his every step literally has calamitous implications.
Set up
Johnny lands on a new planet  populated by micro-civilisations to deliver a tiny package.
Plot point one
Johnny starts to find the recipient. At the same time,the movement of Johnny leads to a disaster of this tiny planet.
Plot point two
A can left by Johnny destroys a lot of buildings and streets.When the recipient is trying to escape from the disaster , he receives a call from Johnny. After listening to the distress signal , Johnny picks the can up and throws it away.However, the small recipient is also thrown out of the planet with the can.
The ending
Johnny leaves ,but the fire jetted by the spacecraft destroys the whole planet.However, the recipient is survived and received the package by accident.
Johnny is a careless and lazy delivery man. He never cares about the situation of other planets and behaves irresponsibly to his mistake.
The citizens in this tiny planet are very small and have strange appearance, which accords with the images of aliens. But they are very puny and timid.
The story tells us that it is essential for us to treat our work carefully and  responsibly .Sometimes even if a small mistake would result in a huge disaster.
THE NARRATIVE Â
The film is a dark comedy about other planet in the universe. The narrative is expressed by facial expressions and body language. There are many details to present the personality of Johnny. For example, at the first shot of him, he is lying on a sofa. He dose not wake up until a signal sent from the spacecraft. The inside of the spacecraft is very messy and dirty, although there is a automated vacuum cleaner. Maybe the ending is unexpected , but it is inevitable to some extent. Because many details reflect Johnnyâs carelessness and laziness, which lead to the damage to the planet in the end.
The close-up
The close-up of express waybill presents the name and the appearance of the recipient, which is linked to the following plot. Whatâs more , Johnny magnified it nearly 55 times in order to see the paper clearly, which suggests that the citizens of the planet are very small.
The close-up of can suggests that the disaster is coming, which paves the way for the attack on the recipient and other citizens.
The close-up of Johnnyâs face assumes the conflicting feeling after realising his mistake. He is worried that how to finish this task.
The wide shot
The wide shot shows the comparison of  the sizes of spacecraft and the planet, which suggests the tiny scale of this planet.Besides, it describes the relative position of the spacecraft.
The god shot
The god shot presents that the little recipient is very depressive and helpless  in front of the attack.
This film uses intersecting montage(cross-cutting) ââtwo closely related narrative line at the same time while in different places , get closer and closer until they finally coverage.It shows Johnny is walking peacefully, while the citizens are running away from the attack tensely. The peace of Jonny is a contrast to  tense of citizens , which creates an intense atmosphere.Every step of Johnny has calamitous influence to the planet.
