100% unironically believe pete committed election fraud
Y’all have got to be joking. I’m not necessarily the hugest Buttigieg fan, but to accuse another democratic candidate for president of election fraud is dangerous, especially when the only “proof” you have is that his mother’s sister’s boyfriend’s auntie’s whatever whatever worked for an app company. Bernie ALSO hinted that he won the caucus “with no proof.” It’s just a strategy to show confidence and strength. Not an admission of guilt.
I also don’t really know what you’re trying to prove with your first pic. The way caucuses work is that a whole bunch of people go stand in a room in groups based on who they’re voting for. There are several rounds of shuffling around the room as candidates get eliminated for having too few votes. Buttigieg getting a lot of final round votes makes sense—as other more moderate candidates were eliminated, their voters moved across the room to the Buttigieg group. (These “movers” were the “final” votes.) It makes sense that Bernie would get fewer final-round voters too—all the people who were with him in the first round are die-hard fans, and the other left-most leaning candidates were not going to get eliminated and give him their votes. Buttigieg was going to pick up Biden, Klobuchar, Steyer, and Bloomberg voters. Bernie was likely to pick up mostly Warren voters, and she did well. That’s just caucuses. Not proof of election fraud.
I really understand the frustration of not knowing the results of this caucus. I know how frustrated Bernie voters must feel after 2016. But we have no evidence or indication that Pete Buttigieg is corrupt, and he’s not nearly as bad as Trump. We need to stop spinning lies about every person with an outside chance of becoming the democratic nominee, just because they’re not out favorite candidate. There are a lot of people in this country who are skeptical of Bernie. It’s not for us to decide that their decision to participate in elections indicates cheating on the part of another candidate.
Please let’s all calm down and wait for the results of the caucus, and let cooler heads prevail before we start accusing upstanding, dedicated public servants of felonies. Bernie might still win. And if some reporter actually proves Pete committed fruad, I’ll eat my words. But guys—he almost certainly did not.
