001. WELCOME - my name is luca and i currently work full time, have family obligations, etc etc. as such, activity will vary depending on days off, energy, and other factors. one thing to know right off the bat is i prefer longer writing format and have a hard time with one liners or single paragraphs. i never, ever expect partners to match my length so, please don't be intimidated!

002. INTERACTION - in all my time on this site i have found that starter calls are rarely fruitful. the quickest way to get something going is to send in memes and, if you feel so inspired, to continue them on. if it sparks ideas we can plot from there or we can wing it. i love creativity and seeing what people come up with. muses surprise me all the time.

003. PLOTTING - i love talking to mutuals about character interaction. i love understanding the relationship muses are building with one another, whatever that dynamic might be. always feel free to send me a message. i'm always willing to brainstorm ideas with other writers. roleplay is a collaborative art. if you prefer chatting through dis.cord i do have that available.

004. TRIGGERS - as a general rule i do not tag violence, smoking, or drinking because they tend to be things my muses are involved with in some shape or form. bruce will definitely fall into the violence label with the life that he leads. i will, however, always tag d*ath or mentions of it. i tag with WORD TW ( ex: death tw ).

005. SHIPPING - i love shipping. if you ship it, i probably ship it, too. never hesitate to reach out if you're interested in something. romantic ships will always be based on chemistry over canon material. i also love building other types of dynamics, too. enemies, friends, and everything in between.

that being said, i will not be assuming prior canon romantic relationship with anyone else's muse. if you'd like to plot that, i am more than willing but would like to talk about it first.

me, always wishing that bruce had the emotional capacity to tell jason just how much his death wrecked him.

there's a line in the new(ish?) batman wonder woman comic where diana makes a note about how bruce still trusts selina and how that must mean he still loves her. not disagreeing.

there's also a line in rebirth where bruce off-handedly mentions to luke that he doesn't even trust alfred. heavily disagreeing.

all that to say that i think what it really comes down to is not trusting himself. he's put a lot of trauma-induced pressure on himself to save gotham from itself. as he meets clark and diana and it expands into JL, this pressure starts to encompass the whole world.

he doesn't trust. period. he doesn't trust himself to get it right. he doesn't trust other people to not become bad or get taken advantage of. as all of them tangle with their enemies and technology grows the possibilities are endless. hence the files and the fail safes and the contingencies. everything is about the inevitability that he will fail. whether that means his body or his life or the mission itself. he will fail at some point and something needs to be in place to protect everyone when that happens.

and that opens me up into how he is always a little too willing to use his own life as currency for someone else's survival but i am not yet prepared to go there.

about the contingency plans i talked about the other day. that includes for himself. he's trained all the bat kids to, in their own ways, follow in his footsteps. he's very aware how different they all are from him but they also have their own individual strengths. they are his contingency plan for himself. especially jason.

i've never read any of the lantern comics but hal is such a vibe in these animated movies.

a small yet genuine smile is hopefully hidden by the shadows cast by the cowl. bruce is also staring intently at the black feather pinched between his gloved fingers. in truth, he is pretty fucking clever but that's because he has to be. to protect everyone he cares about, gotham, and, at times, even the rest of the world, he has to be as close to the most clever person in the room as he can be to anticipate what could go wrong.

but, as diana likes to remind him, those are inside thoughts. so, they stay inside. instead, he simply shrugs and says, " sometimes. "

this isn't about being clever. this is about seeing what happens next. " but i came here because you're a private investigator. " he sets the feather on the desk in front of him. " i thought you could privately investigate why there's a feather in my city that gives off very interesting readings. "

selina purred with open amusement, tilting her head slightly while she watched him. "i kind of like you on your knees for me, bat." a mischievous smile curled up red stained lips. with her whip currently keeping him bound, she leaned down until there was an indecent amount of space between their faces, her knuckle just beneath his chin lifting his face. she boldly held his gaze, then looked to his lips and hummed, "what's your stance on whips and a little bondage?" she was mostly kidding.

bruce presses his lips into a thin line to prevent himself from saying any of the first things that come to mind. instead, he concentrates on their surroundings to make a mental note of the places he could go or things he can use when he makes his escape.

" there's a time and a place. " he concedes with a small smile despite the hint of irritation in his voice. " this is hardly one of them. "

a tug could set her off balance. she might anticipate that, though. they'd danced long enough that their mental games of chess were becoming a good exercise for him. a lot of the others tended to get too frustrated to indulge him. not that any of this was a game but he always needed to improve his thinking to be better than the enemy.

" just give me the necklace, cat, and we can both be on our way. "

as i attempt to to work on my car.rd i realize that i don't currently have a series of events i consider ' canon. ' on the one hand, that makes for a terrible bio but on the other, bruce's life involves so many other people that i don't want to step on toes.

i might make a list of no's if i feel strongly enough. like gotham war. not vibing with gotham war right meow.

" that is a very good question. " bruce tilts his head while they watch the streets of gotham below. his gloved fingers flex ever so slightly, as if already going through the motions of whatever is about to happen. with no data to go on, all he can anticipate is what a general fight with one of the town's villains will be. maybe not the same degree as joker, who's become predictable in his unpredictability.

by all accounts, it looked like a simple smash and grab. threw a brick through a window, stepped through, and grabbed all the cash out of the register. they were closer to the high rises, so this store didn't have a gate or a rolling door to prevent anyone from thinking about doing just this. while that gave him hope that they were doing something to give the people confidence he also wished that, sometimes, people would be more prepared.

" let's go find out. if there's a new player in town we need to know. " without looking back, bruce takes a step off the roof of the building they'd been watching from across the street. after a few feet he holds out his arms so let the air catch his cape, letting him float the rest of the way down.

i do the dreaded clopen so i'm going to go pass out but! if anyone wants to plot specifics always feel free to lmk. since i get home early tomorrow i'm going to find a few things to watch to help boost my confidence in the voice.
