jalen brunson accepts the best championship performance award at the espy awards - july 15th 2026
this is genuinely the only reason that the entirety of golf's existence itself had to be created. So that Kyle show me that booty Lowry could wear tight ass khakis or idk maybe it's like , they call it smthing else in evil golf world, IDK!!! can wear these TIGHT ASS PANTS and show off HIS BIG BOOTY BEHIND ! for the WORLD! to be BLESSED WITH !!
hi again :) may i request kyle lowry and demar derozan
This has probably been done already but in case it hasn't...
5 pm thought: he's gay lol
11 pm thought: unfortunately the sad but logical reality is that he is straight and just kind of a weird freak and also a misogynist but it's still beautiful how romantic his obsession with his best friend is and how its psychosexual nature haunts all his creative work
2 am thought: he's gay and he wants to fuck men and i know this for a fact. and also a misogynist
Harsh light of dawn thought: he may very well be some flavour of queer, but he is so repressed and entrenched within his misogynistic space that he does not have the frame of reference to understand or allow himself to explore what he actually wants and will further bury himself within the system in his internalized homophobia
but, yeah, there's definitely something gay there and maybe a fictional version of him can explore that
this is not a real societal issue but sometimes people make sweeping comments about "athletes" on here and it's like Well yes but that is more true in the nhl than it is in other sports
"what you have to understand about athletes is from age 15 onward they only talk to other people who play their sport" Well yes but that is more true in the nhl than it is in sports where buy-in is less expensive and starts at a different age, hockey is not unique or distinct but is remarkable for how small and ossified its youth pipeline is
"what you have to understand about athletes is they are fundamentally uncool and don't know how to be people" Well yes but that is more true in the nhl than in sports where the stars set the standard for what "cool" is and have massive commercial deals and marry extremely famous pop stars and sometimes even go on to have Hollywood careers, hockey is not unique or distinct but is remarkable for how many cultural qualms it has about spotlight-seeking and flamboyant personalities (and for its small-to-medium cultural impact compared to other team sports)
"what you have to understand about athletes is they are all secretly republicans or the local equivalent" Well yes but that is more true in the nhl than in sports where athletes organized wildcat strikes in support of Black Lives Matter or where athletes have about half the number of registered Republicans as hockey does or where a large percentage of the players are lesbians, hockey is not unique or distinct but is remarkable for its whiteness and homophobia and conservativism
and this is not like a knock on the nhl or a condescending "don't you understand you could be watching BETTER sports" thing, every sport's culture has its own particular and remarkable flaws
i just see people going "here are some things new fans just have to understand and accept, if they're going to be a fan of real athletes rather than fictional personalities, otherwise everyone will be able to tell this is the first sport they've ever been into" and often i'm like. well you, the speaker, don't sound like an experienced sports fan passing on general wisdom that much, you sound like an experienced nhl (and often f1) fan passing on advice that is a little more specific than you know and maybe a little more defeatist than necessary?
in sync
so cute
the first thing u need to understand about athletes is that they are cringe losers bc they skipped school in hopes of never having to work a real job. the second thing you need to understand abt athletes is that they are first and foremost workers whose years of lucrative labour are capped by the very real limit that the strain of that selfsame work puts on their bodies which means they retire at an age before most people's careers even really take off and are expected to get by for the rest of their lives on the money they earned those few years. the third thing you need to understand is that they want to fuck their coworker.
when ur gay
Omg
#why are they so loud???
happy wnba opening day to one of the funniest sports headlines of all time
