fletchdupâ:
âoh, hey-â In a flashy show of his speed, he had preemptively moved out of the path of her swords. âI just got your hundred messages about your dad being here to take you home.â He strode, perhaps more confidently than he should be striding. âwell, I just did three laps and-,â he meant around the city. Fletcher cannot explain why, at all, but heâs unsettled. His lack of reaction is a character trait, but for the past few hours, it was as if he had never taken pause. He reacted to everything, and not just with a pulled expression or widened eyes. Fletcher was verbally accosting people, something he did not understand but something he could not help. He had never been like this.Â
âgo figure, your dadâs not here to take you home, wherever that may be. No sign of him, anywhere. And I really checked, okay? Ran all over the place, just for you. You canât just be- saying your father, the inventor of terror inducing bad logic, is out here roaming the Earth. That would be insane though. If he was, heâs clearly never heard of the take out the speedster first rule. Do you want me to take another lap? Iâm not taking another lap. Heâs not here-â he did a once over. Okay. Ugh, god. Should he go put on his kid flash suit too? Give me a break, he thought. âsick gettup though. you really think heâs out there, huh? got all dressed up for the occasion and everything.âÂ
maggie was listening to what he was saying, taking in his tone, his stature and internally reacting to it. her hand coming up and waving, as if she was softly shooing away a fly. but the extra details of her combat gear started to vanish away. she had been practicing a lot, on her magic, controlling the energy, working on her combat skills. it had just been something to fill the time after getting home from work, when fletcher worked long weekend shifts and she didnât feel like playing her video games. but she was glad now that she had started. taking a deep breath she looked up at fletcher, ânot to be a dick, but i think i have more experience than you about what my father and the black order are capable of.â her tone was short, very unlike her normal carefree self. but her threat levels were on high alert, her guard never going down. and on top of that, fletcher seemed... mad at her?
âmagnihildâ a echoed voice that made her skin crawl, a visible shudder went through her skin. maggie turned towards the direction of the voice, at the end of the all stood corvus glaive with a sick smirk on his face. as she reached for a sword again, the protective detailing shimmered back into place and with a powerful throw the sword flew like a dagger towards him. pinning the large alien to the wall she broke off in a run, reaching him and punching the wall in an energy bundled fist. but as she recoiled for another blow he was gone. all that was left was scorch marks around the hole in the wall and the blade wedged into it as well.
she turned frantically, âwhere did he go?â she asked, her voice shallow, full of breath. âwhere did he go?â she then screamed looking back at fletcher. âheâs hurt! we need to get him now! I need to get to him now! if heâs weak i can take him out, and then proxima will distraught and...andâ a hand ran through her hair. âwhat would gamora do?â she whispered to herself as she started to pace. â i need to find him, call to proxima, get her to figure out my dadâs plan and then kill her too. then maybe i can ... i can talk him out of it?â she was still pacing, tears falling down her cheeks. âthatâs stupid he doesnât negotiate. so then what? i just go with him? after killing his two most trusted followers?â she was upset, angry, a whole mix of emotions that were climbing to a lethal point. she hadnât been like this in a very long time...200 plus years long time. she turned towards fletcher then, not out of want but out of need. she was mad at him, somehow in the pain and chaos around her, she still had time to be mad at him. but right now she needed him. â what do i do? â she asked, a bit shakily. it wasnât because she thought he had the answer, it was because she needed an outside perspective and he was the only one available.
