power move: exclusively referring to sports played by women as “sports” and all the men’s sports exclusively as “men’s sports”
Moving to the country.
Addam’s dad and his wife separated last year. His dad is pretty well off and bought her her own house, did a bunch of work to make it real nice, and fully furnished it with all new stuff. Now less than a year later they are back together and selling it.
Addam came home Thursday and said they were listing it this weekend and he wanted me to look at it to see if I was interested in moving and we had only a day to decide before it went up for sale. So we went and saw it Friday and decided that day that we wanted to buy it.
We asked what the selling price was going to be and his dad said well since it’s you i’ll just let you assume the mortgage instead of buying it for what it’s worth. So we will be ending up with a mortgage less than what we owe on our current home which is nice. And since their original house is fully furnished they are leaving EVERYTHING. Book cases, washer and dryer and kitchen appliances, tvs, bed….and it’s all less than a year old. It’s a little smaller than our house sq footage wise but has the same number of room. It also has a bigger yard and chicken coop!!
It’s crazy. We are trying to get fully moved in over this week and weekend so we can do a few things to our house and get it for sale. On top of trying to move this week, the girl who works for me is out of town and i’m slammed. Lots to do.
Pam-casso! Sorry I’m late, I had to race across town.
i love prince eric. from the little mermaid. he’s hilarious. because he seems like one of the most mild-mannered and unassuming princes in the disney canon, but he is also one of the few to actively kill the bad guy. most disney villains die by consequence of the final battle but are not directly killed by the hero/heroine. most of them fall to their deaths or cause their own demise, and sometimes the hero is indirectly responsible because they’ll launch them into that direction or something, but they still don’t bring knife to heart directly.
but then a couple do. and prince eric is my fave out of those few because up until the final act, he is the most chill motherfucker u ever seen. like he is quick to spring to action during the storm scene n stuff, but otherwise? he’s really quiet n sensitive and runs along the beach playing the flute for his big shaggy dog n he smiles like a lil nerd and gets all cute around ariel and he’s so sweet n everything.
AND THEN IN THE FINAL BATTLE THAT MOTHERFUCKER STRAIGHT UP DRIVES A SHIP THROUGH URSULA LIKE WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!! NO WONDER NO ONE IS TRYIN TO LAY SIEGE TO HIS KINGDOM!! ALL THE NEIGHBOURS ARE LIKE “HOLY SHIT DON’T GO THERE! PRINCE ERIC IS A BEAST! HE’LL STRAIGHT UP DRIVE A BOAT THROUGH YOUR BITCH!”
i love him
At the beginning of the movie Prince Eric, without hesitation, jumps into the ocean, in the middle of a storm, and climbs onto a ship that’s on fire, all to rescue his dog.
Then when he’s convinced some mystery woman saved him, he starts looking for her just to thank her. On his way, he meets some mute naked teenage girl who can’t even walk or dress herself, confirms that she’s not the girl he’s looking for, then brings her to stay at his castle anyway, for no particular reason.
No one questions this, just like they don’t question when he shows up three days later with a mysterious woman one morning and says he’s getting married that same day. At said wedding, several witnesses see his fiance turn into a sea monster, which he then murders by piloting a submerged ship pulled up from the bottom of the ocean straight into her.
A week later, he marries the mute girl and the god of the sea himself rises from the ocean to give his blessings. Again, no one questions this.
I’m convinced that Eric had to have done some crazy insane stunts on a regular basis, cause despite him being so chill and relaxed normally, no one bats an eyelash at any of his ridiculous decisions or incredible feats during the course of the film. Clearly they’re all used to it, and rumours of him marrying an ocean princess would only dissuade potential enemies of his country even further.
a common conversation around the kingdom:
“Did you hear what Prince Eric did this morning?”
“Oh gods, not again.”
i feel like i have never appreciated Prince Eric until now.
Instead of debating men online, find a women’s project that interests you. The men aren’t looking for a debate, but wanting to drain you of your energy. Finding a project instead could inspire you to help or start your own.
Bonus: being ignored by women is the number one thing that angers men, AND the second thing that angers men is women supporting each other and succeeding; two birds with one stone
Men don’t understand that saying “[this franchise] now has a/an additional female main character? Another studio caving in to the feminist agenda” is actually a perfect example of why feminism is still needed because women are considered so unequal that their mere acknowledgement of existence in media is considered an “agenda” instead of just a normal thing (like a male lead is).

omg I’m doing research for one of projects for college, and apparently, girls learn better when they’re in an all girls class, but boys learn even worse when they’re in an all boys class, because all the negative things become even stronger of there are no girls to act as “buffer”
get rid of the boys and let girl learn in peace, i couldn’t care less about them
It’s not our job to be a “buffer”
Separate boys from girls then, they don’t have to be acting like mothers at age 12, if boys ruin the education of others boys, um, idk, fix their behavior maybe?
I work at uni. My program is very competitive. Like you need a 92% or more to get in. We get 10x the applications than we can accept. So. This means our program is 95% female. Simply because girls do better in highschool than boys. Its literally that simple. However. This is a HUGE deal in the administration! Because OMG all those poor boys with less than a 92% can’t get into our program and woe is me, those poor poor boys. Every year we meet to talk about ways to “rectify” this “problem”. One year they’re going to stop inviting me to these meetings. Because I always ask questions like “how do we get boys into the program with lower GPAs without denying girls with higher GPAs? And how is giving boys preferential treatment not sexist?” Keep going good ladies, I’m saving your seat!
This type of thing always happens when women are dominating something, protocols are changed to accommodate and benefit men, and if this strategy isn’t successful the field is devalued.
Keep the good work!
The amount of times I heard my grandfather talk about the ‘feminization’ of schools because he wanted to blame the system for boys under performing (or, more accurately: girls out performing the boys) instead of, ya know, boys’ entitled attitudes and overall piss poor behavior when at school.
When women fail at something: there must be something wrong with women When women succeed at something: there must be something wrong with the system
I think I’ve talked about it before on other posts, but I once had an anthropology class that, completely unintentionally, was all women and one man, and he dropped the course after two weeks. The other section of the same anthropology class, taught by the same professor, was mixed with men and women. So, since it was anthropology, she asked if it was cool if she took notes. She said right away that the all female class had a wildly different vibe, that we spoke and acted differently and had different social expectations of her and the rest of the class, and that we let students complete their thoughts before disagreeing, while the mixed class was highly traditional and almost entirely male dominated because every time a woman spoke, a man jumped in halfway through to “correct” her by saying the same thing. Its a very small sample size, but I think about this a lot
So all those “girls shoulders and knees distract boys from learning” policies…..
