So funny to read the training hall sections of Catching Fire knowing Finnick is specifically tasked with getting Katniss into an alliance. He follows her to the knot tying station, shows off his skills and jokes around, she gives him nothing and walks off. Finnick immediately goes to the archery station to wait for her since she'll surely want to come over and show off her best skill to posture or get back at him or just for fun. She doesnt, she steers well clear and instead gets chatting with Beetee and Wiress of all people and then at lunch says they're the only people she's found that she wants to ally with. Finnick takes this hit to his pride, realises he's getting nowhere, and comes up with a different strategy. He introduces Katniss to Mags and then leaves her alone.
