Boo! Class No not a Halloween thing but our weekly socialisation classes for shy and nervous dogs. I went along as our Utonagan Bella was attending and her spirits are lifted in the class, and I wanted some nice photos for her online profile.
It was my first chance to meet her, as she is nervous of people. I let her come to me, and after just half an hour I looked down at one point to find her standing close next to me sharing my view. It sounds like a tiny step, but this is really very brave for her. She has come on in leaps and bounds with care from our behaviour team. Rosie - in blue in the pictures - is her main behaviourist and you can see the bond they have. It would be wonderful to adopt her and watch her blossom.
Belle the tan staffie, who adores people but wants to keep her distance from dogs. She had to work so hard to be part of the class and did really well.
Floss the white bichon frise decided that she liked Belle, and was very good in the class.
Meg the doberman cross, such a beautiful girl. She really enjoyed being out in the paddock. Although shy compared to most dogs, she was actually the most confident in this group.
Meg has started to make friends with Scooby-Doo, the saluki cross. I could imagine this pair running around together as they gain confidence.
Beatrice, the black shih tzu cross was very curious about my camera, so I have lots of blurred images of her face coming straight towards me!
Our socialisation classes are open to the public and their dogs, find out more by clicking here.
