THIS IS WHY WE KNEEL
Maybe he did something illegal like
1. Rob a bank armed
2. Rob a house armed
3. Deal drugs
4. Rape a young kid
There are SO many things that he could have done that caused the cops to search him. I’m not saying I’m racist or even sexist, but whatever that boy did to get searched by COPS was horrible! You probably just saved a fugitive from going back to jail. Just because he didn’t resist, doesn’t mean he’s not liable for something. This is the lesson people need to learn. This is like the white boy who got shot and killed by cops when he robbed a house. I’m not going to waste anymore time. I need to go to school.
Sometimes I like to truly look at and examine the though process of white people who are racist or have unconsciously racist tendencies . Above we can truly take away a great example. The person reads that it was a little boy alone with backpack . However his interpretation is that a little boy alone on the street has a high probability to have been involved in something like ROBBING A BANK.This is an example of how white people rob black youth of their innocence. White people will work double time to defend the humanity in white mass shooters saying things like "he was just a normal guy". (Vegas, charleston etc) Also, the person above never mentions that violence is never the proper method to seek justice. People likes this believe that the POSSIBILITY of one having committed a crime warrants a violent sometime deadly response. It's important to note that these people never consider themselves racist. sometimes I do believe ignorance is the cause instead of racism. However, when a person seeks to respond to the issue not to understand they become righteously racist. The ignorance can be seen in the persons statement "whatever the boy did to get searched was horrible". Makes you wonder if they heard about the documented bias of stop and frisk in places like New York. When sometimes the only "horrible" thing a person did was be black. Violence against blacks has been deemed acceptable off of the POSSIBILITY of crime. Makes you think what it would look like If black people believed that crimes committed against us at the hands of police such as MURDER warranted a violent response. I say all this to say I hope that we are never blinded by people like those above who seeks to devalue our reality and experience in this world . Just some thing to think about .
OUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS
searching for that fine line between “i need to stay informed” and “i can’t take any more of this.”
