Trying to get back into posting on social media (despite the futility of it)

Here's a traditional painting commission from December 2025. Imagine my delight when a client commissioned me to paint a witch for Christmas! 🧙‍♀️🖤

This painting is 11x14", acrylic on canvas. Some names and dates have been blacked out for privacy.

A study in pastels of a running horse, 11x14", Stabilo CarbOthello soft pastel pencils on Canson Mi-teintes paper. The focus for this one was achieving a sense of speed and fluidity of movement 🐎

The Lady of the Lake, 12x24", acrylic on canvas.

I started this one before Halloween, and then for a while I just wasn't sure if it was done. I guess I'm still not sure. The subtle purples that exist in the actual painting are kind of lost in the photo, but I didn't want to exaggerate them too much. A fellow artist also suggested I put a spot of yellow in the flower. But I really wanted to maintain the fact that this ghost is appearing in the dead of night, something I tried to achieve with the cold monochrome. Maybe I will tweak it later (and try to take a better photo, with different lighting 🤷‍♀️)
