Summary: Will has become Kirin’s consort, but the new title is more than just that. He wakes up after solstice with a collar of vines and leaves around his throat and too many questions that Kirin refuses to answer. Green magic is slowly winding around Will’s city powers and Kirin holds all the cards behind his back.
It’s time Will finds out the answers for himself.

Summary: Due to Cornerstone, Rythian and Lalna are working together for the first time since the Nuke destroyed Blackrock. How is Rythian dealing with working with the man who shattered his life?
Notes: Born from a conversation that aeverelle and I were having on Skype the other day and our love for Blackrock and Flux Buddies parallels.

Getting to sleep in the Cornerstone base was always a hassle. First, they actually had to get into the base and, with the various teams scattered about all over the world, this was a massive task in and of itself.
After a lot of angry messages, threats, and general confusion on who exactly was still missing, the entire team was finally assembled in the base and then came the item sorting, the machine checks, the “where the heck is my hang glider?!” and then—at last—they began to get into bed.
Since the beds were all shoved up against each other, most of them them tended to just crawl up from the foot of the bed but then there were people like Smith, who often stole others beds which caused a lot of ruckus, or people like Strippin who jumped on, scaring the people on either side of him.
Hiya! This is just a little PSA to say this place isn't dead. A lot of the yog drama over Xmas really sapped my motivation to write on top of me just being really slow to write and having issue finishing things. I have three different fics started at this point. Two regular canon sorta and one UMY. I'll try to round them off and get them out soonish.
-Shoutout to writers who spend hours on a chapter and get no views
-to those that have huge audiences and are pressured by critics
-to you who are just starting out
-To every one of you.
Whether u get 5 hits or 50,000 on a story, your skills are important and we all really, truly appreciate it
Keep it up, you talented lil fucks. I love you all
okay so this is a bit of an open post (thats kind of a big deal for me cause anxiety woo)
i was hoping to maybe find someone to talk to about yoggy stuff? i mean just someone to bounce headcanons around with and we can beta each others fics and stuff. i havent posted any fics yet because i dont have anyone to edit for me and i feel theyre too unpolished to put out there yet. and i will absolutely return the favor. the only real stipulation i have is that im not really comfortable with nsfw stuff? i do like shipping but yeah just personally not comfortable with nsfw stuff.
im still really into the circles of magic stuff and my main fic/headcanon focuses are on nano and lalna and hatfilms and blackrock stuff.
its kinda tough being in a fandom without anyone to bounce round ideas with so heres an open invite to just shoot me a message and we can skype or some other shit and maybe even play video games together if you're into that.

Summary: The arrival of a certain Garbage Court in the city pushes Lalna to go see his local hedgewitches on Nano’s behalf.
Notes: my urbfant contribution, featuring nano, casually affectionate lalna, lomadia being fantastic, nilsey, and general nanosounds anger at the trash fae. also featuring some of my own little headcanons, which i recognize arent anything revolutionary.
“Nano!” Lalna calls out the window, towards the branches that reach out to gently caress the side of his building. The tree is tall, far taller than the building, reaching out to hang over the sidewalks and the pavement of the road, its leaves beginning to crisp up and shudder in the wind. “Nano, supper’s up!”
So fluxed up Smiffy had become a popular topic recently and funnily enough I'm writing a fic where Smiff uses his thaumcraft knowledge to help Nano with her flux (badly) and he gets a bit of flux as a side effect. Sorry no cut cause of mobile. The way I figure slimes works is that there's an outer slime that's used as a sort of skin and is extraneous and can be removed without any issue and won't have any sentience of its own. Then there's a core which acts more as a brain kinda? It's where sentience comes from and memories are stored and if you remove some of it you lose some memories and it will be a sentient being of its own with the memories the original being lost. So with a flux infection, if it gets into the outer bits the flux itself would act as in inner core for it. Giving it its own horrible monster consciousness. Smiff could easily remove infected bits from himself with no issue other than being of slightly smaller stature for a while. It's when the flux gets into the inner core slime is when it's over and no going back. I like to think that whenever Smiffy gets a bit of a flux infection and removes that bit of himself Trott and Ross always insist he kills it and leave it at that, but Smiff always secretly takes it to a taint biome and lets it go. He is much too sentimental of a person deep down to kill what is basically his child almost even though it barely shares any part of himself.

I wonder if there's a central circle rp group/blog and stuff set up yet?? I wouldn't mind joining something like that and stuff as I'm fleshing out my OC to fit in with them. If there's not I'd be happy to set it up if there's enough interest. Also I feel like the central circle would be very involved with comrangercorp since I feel like they would know a lot about the goings on of other circles. So I'd like to set up something with them maybe? I don't know just trying to gauge interest here!! Let me know!!
Role of the Council:
-To make decisions on behalf of the circle
-To teach other member of the circle the aspects of Thaumcraft they do not already know about
-The council is considered equal to the circle and does not have any more power other than decision making
Structure:
-Six Members, each…
oh just an fyi i'm sorry about how empty it is in here!! i only just started this blog and the url and theme etc. are all just placeholders right now!!
my personal is currycurrie and thats where i tend to post the most but its mostly just reblogs and stuff.
i'll try to focus more on populating this blog in future!
so i've seen tumblr buzzing around about all this magic circle stuff so i decided to actually look through all the mods in yogs complete and hatpack having to do with magic to see where some more obvious lines could be drawn between them.
massive essay under the cut!
Here's a list. Please tell me if I've missed any. I tried to include mods that even only have a few magic-y things in them.
Thaumcraft
Thaumcraft Add ons (Technomancy, Forbidden Magic, Tinkerer)
Witchery
Blood Magic
Ars Magica
MystCraft
Totemic
Xeno's Reliquary
Magic Crops
Twilight Forest
Mariculture (minimal sea witch stuff, focuses on enchanting jewelry)
Magic Bees (Arguably a Thaumcraft add on)
Hardcore Ender Expansion
Botania (HatPack only)
That mod that adds in all the Deep Dark stuff that I can't remember the name of
Ender Storage
DartCraft (debatable but it still focuses a lot on enchantments that function vaguely similarly to vanilla enchanting)
BiomesOPlenty (Adds a few interesting items and potions and dimensions)
Now the most obvious line I can draw between these mods is whether the power that allows you to do this comes from within yourself or is drawn from outside yourself whether it be nature or the innate power all objects have (which thaumcraft implies). Unfortunately this line can get blurred when you get into the nitty gritty with some mods so feel free to tell me if you disagree on the category I've placed them in.
There aren't really as many mods that focus on power within self, but I believe they are:
Ars Magica (Only using items as catalysts or places to bind/store your power)
Blood Magic (Focuses on binding/storing your power into items)
Witchery (only to some extent)*
Mariculture (Extremely similar to vanilla enchantment)
All others focus on drawing power from nature or using the innate power inside an object.
*With Witchery what literally determines how much power your alter has, is how many plants are around it. It also references the innate power of items a lot too. But the way I think witchery works is that instead of using items as catalysts like a lot of other mods, it uses your inner power as a catalyst to better channel item/nature power into spells/rites/brews/infusions/etc. Of course there are different sections within witchery that more focus on either one or the other so I feel witchery could fall on either side of the line depending on what your focus within the mod is.
So given the little blurbs about the four (five?) circles by marblespiders in this post I've sort of extrapolated on the general philosophies and goals of each circle.
North and South are divided mostly by power from within self (North) and power from items/nature (South). East and West in my mind are more divided by chaos (West) and order (East).
With West focusing on blood magic their philosophy is gaining inner power by any means. They take the idea of using the power within yourself and extrapolate it to hyperbolic standards so they may become gods among people. Immortality being a big motivator for them. To them the power within yourself is far greater and more easily manipulated compared to the power you draw from items/nature. They formed a circle in order to share discoveries and ideas with others working towards the same goal, but not without a degree of extreme uneasiness between all members as they know in the end there can be only one person considered the most powerful.
List of compatible mods:
Blood Magic
Ars Magica's darker bits
A little bit of Witchery
That mod that adds in the Deep Dark stuff
Since East focuses on Thaumcraft they are all about balance and order. Thaumcraft requires a person to balance the magic they use or else ruin the earth with flux/taint. They formed the circle in order to educate all those interested in magic so they won't destroy the world. They help maintain the balance between vis and flux above all else. They consider using power from within oneself to augment thaumcraft as it stands a big taboo. They are afraid that a person can be too easily corrupted to use any sort of power from within oneself. There is a system of balances and checks in place so that everyone in the circle is equal and any sort of abuse of magic or use of forbidden magic (not the add on haha) is easily brought to the others' attention and stopped quickly and quietly.
List of compatible mods:
Thaumcraft and all its add ons
MystCraft
Xeno's Reliquary
Magic Crops
Magic Bees
Hardcore Ender Expansion
Ender Storage
DartCraft
BiomesOPlenty
The Northern Circle is more aligned with the West in terms of gaining power for oneself and causing a bit of mischief along the way, but it is a much more personal pursuit. KirinDave and Lying are each using magic for their own personal gains and fixing any problems they have. There is a sort of code for members to follow, but from what I can tell its a bit more secretive. There are no taboos as to what types of magic they use, but they are obviously trying to avoid abuses of power when used to screw other people over and meddle in other's lives.
List of compatible mods
Ars Magica
Blood Magic
Witchery
A little bit of Thaumcraft
Twilight Forest
All others are on the table but those mentioned above are the real focus.
The Southern Circle are more aligned with the East. Nilesy and Hannah use magical items to make their lives easier, to gain knowledge, and fix any personal issues. They tend to avoid the East due to their strict rules on what types of magic to use, and how to use it. Once again, they mostly just keep to themselves. Others' business is their own.
List of compatible mods
Witchery
Botania
Totemic
Magic Crops
Twilight Forest
DartCraft
MystCraft
BiomesOPlenty
Then there's the Central Circle. I believe they are all sorts of people who use all sorts of magic for all sorts of motivations and gather occasionally to share knowledge and help each other out with spells that require more than one person. No organization to it or overarching philosophy or motivation. They keep an eye on the goings on other circles, and are sure to let them know when shit gets out of hand.
So let me know what you think!! I've thought a lot about the lines drawn between the magic mods before all this circle business came about so this is just my headcanon-y stuff. Feel free to message me if you disagree with anything and I'll try to walk you through my thought process and make changes as needed.
So reading the thaumcraft wiki for a bit more insight into flux and the causes and cures and shit. And according to the wiki mobs who cross a taint biome first become infected with the status effect. They will have it until they die. But here's the interesting part. If they die due to the status effect then and only then do they become properly visibly infected with taint and become hostile.
So Nano. If we're sticking with the canon put forth by the mod's lore. She had to have died. She either died and revived while in the glass sphere rather quickly, or it happened over time when she was locked in the tower. I'm leaning towards the latter here.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS. The only thing keeping Nano alive is the flux. It has reanimated her corpse like that crazy mind control fungus that takes over the dead bodies of insects! Due to the differences between mobs and people the actual infection did not take over her mind so completely as it does with mobs. Also she is a person of extreme stubbornness and willpower anyway so the infection would have an extra hard time.
So if a cure for the flux = death I'm seriously curious how they would get around this. I originally thought clones, but that's too easy. Nano could just get a brand new body free of flux anytime. Maybe some Lalnable could be worked in with various reanimating the dead type stuff. I DON'T KNOW. IT'S AN EXCITING TWIST.
