We’re releasing Live at Ryan’s Bar to help fund our next EP, Tree’s that drown, so the more you buy, the better Tree’s that drown will sound and more polished it will look. That’s how Swans funded to be kind and if it’s good enough for Michael Gira then fuck, it’s good enough for us. Maybe not be good enough for Morrissey, but you can’t win them all.
Our next big plan.
Hello everybody everywhere, a little announcement, on the 18th of May we are releasing a live CD we recorded of our gig at Ryan's Bar. Swans funded "To be kind" by selling live CD's and it seemed like a fantastic idea. An idea worth repeating, so stay tuned, and if you want to buy other merch and fund our next release "Tree's that drown" head over tohttps://bearvsrhino.bandcamp.com/merch , pick up a copy of Vulture Song or a Poster. And that concluded this public service announcement. Don't forget to vote x
Hey everyone, stuff, CD and posters, you can buy our stuff here https://bearvsrhino.bandcamp.com/merch, you'll be happy as fuck you did, and so will we.
Hey everybody, here's the poster for our next show, it's at Ryan's Bar and we're playing with Spitehouse and Boston Departure Lounge. It's on the 4th of March, and the door will be free, though for £5, the lucky audience member can get a live recording of the night, and for £10, the live DVD, as we will be filming the night.
Just the Evangelion OP, everyone. Nothing else, honest.
Well isn't that sweet, Merry Christmas motherfuckers. Love Bear VS Rhino x
A thing, not a finished thing, but a thing none the less.
A letter to my brother and sister, fuck him, he doesn't know what paracetamol is. A new video by us, Bear VS Rhino
A letter to my brother and sister, fuck him, he doesn't know what paractemol is, a story, sort of
A letter to my brother and sister, fuck him, he doesn’t know what paracetamol is, is a song I wrote about four or so years ago, back when I was a solo folk artist in the vein of Tom Waits (not the Tom Waits folk audiences liked, the post 1980, Rain Dogs Tom Waits). A letter to ... appeared on my second record, Clap Hands, Shake Hands, Dirty Red Hands, as a whispered vocal track and like this when I performed it live.
A letter to ... was one of the 3 songs I brought across from my solo days to Bear VS Rhino, the other two being Useless, and Beatle VS Earthworm. A letter to... fit better, as a song the band could perform, the other didn’t, so were dropped. In fact, A letter to... was the second track me and Nico jammed around on our first meet up. It was the first proper Bear VS Rhino song, a song that we beefed up, changed and made our own (sounds stupid, I know, but Bear VS Rhino is a band, not a vehicle for my solo work) It was also the first song I sang on while jamming out the I achieved a Chino like scream.
A letter to... is one of the more difficult songs to perform, for me at least, cos it requires a bit more skill on the guitar, that I normally just hit and hope for the best, but is fun as fuck, letting young Carlos take is bass for a walk in 3rd verse and the PJ Harvey come Dillinger bit in the middle. And if Youtube is to be believed, our most popular, my most popular song ever, why, this early live performance has 20,653 views, the first gig Bear VS Rhino did at Nambucca as 524 and the video from the Islington has 3,065. Imagine our surprise. Beck up, Back up gets fuck all views. On the face of it, it is a very popular song. On the face of it Ian Duncan Smith is a human being, but dig a smidge deeper and you’ll find something even bleaker than the expression in the pits of his eyes as he fucks his sectary.
The stats on those videos reveal that in fact, instead of people looking to find a folk hardcore rock song with PJ Harvey come Dillinger bit in the middle, they are in fact searching Youtube for incest brother sister fuck porn ( on Youtube for god sake, do they not know what an internet is?)
Well to these people, I must apologise, here you are, excepting to beat your meat to a genre of porn that doesn’t have its own category on redtube and what you receive is a beardy shouty man singing(!) about wolves, unfunny fuckers thicker than pig shit must quite the shock to you and I can only hope it doesn’t spoil your afternoon. I am sorry to disappoint you. Please follow this link to find what you desire. Link
And that’s sort of the story of A letter to my brother and sister, Fuck him, he doesn’t know what paracetamol is. I personally feel like Neil Young when I perform it.

A kind young gentleman has written quite the piece about us
Hello, Music Musing and Such has written a review and it appears a history of us, quite an in depth write up. Have a read, it's rather lovely.

Some more kind words said about Vulture Song. Well he said it was bonkers, but he enjoyed it none the less.
Back in my teens, my best friend and I embarked on a short-lived and ill-advised music project that went by the name of Mr. Law. We didn’t really give melody or structure any time of day; the idea was to just play dissonantly and hit jam jars a bit. It wasn’t experimental, it wasn’t avant-garde …
Hey, Two Beats Off gave Vulture Song a review.
Vulture Song, the where's, the hows
Hey there everybody, we have a gig at the New Cross Inn on Thursday. We will also be selling our brand new CD, Vulture Song, for like the first time, ever. So you should definitely come for that - Bear VS Rhino x
