just released a new ep on my bandcamp
just released an ep under my folk emo project, this one is more experimental folk
video of my outdoors set from yesterday!
played an guerilla diy set in a park yesterday! me and a friend just carried the gear over to the park, and i played a ~6 minute long set to about 7 people. heavily considering doing another one of these next week, also outside. there will be a video of the set from up on my youtube channel today!
finally sat down and practiced my upcoming set! im going to be using my drum machine in combination with my newly acquired 303 clone for the beat, and im doing a mixer feedback loop to add some more heft to the sound. im also gonna be using a mic, although im not sure whether i want to use my contact mic (if i was to do that id duct tape it to my neck, like my last set) or my conventional mic. im leaning towards the standard microphone, mainly cause it'll give me something to hold while im performing, which i feel will help give me some added stage presence. the set so far is sounding very industrial, which im really happy with.
i got a behringer td-3! its a clone of the tb-303 that basically started acid house. gonna be using it in conjunction with my drum machine at my set in june to do a sound similar to suicide (band)
this is the most unintuitive piece of equipment ive ever used
poke you with my noise
video of my most recent set!
need to figure out an interesting way to integrate vocals into my upcoming set. id like to try and run my vocals (probably gonna use the old contact-mic-taped-to-my-neck trick again) through a bitcrusher of some kind. ideally i would add a pitch shifter pedal as well, to make it higher pitched. i have a friend who's gonna lend me their bitcrusher sort of pedal if need be, so at least i can just do that if i dont think of anything else
very excited for my upcoming set in june. gonna be trying to go a more grindy sort of sound, which will involve my recently acquired drum machine (an alesis sr-16! almost the same drum machine used by godflesh for their first album).
not sure whether or not the metal grate from the last set will be making a comeback, im leaning towards no. i got the first one from one of my fellow noisefolk, but it broke during my set in february (rip, luckily the noise box attached to it should still work). i guess they dont build grates off the back of placenta fridges like they used too :(
