wanna cover this song.
this tijuana panthers track has a pretty fun bassline and fun, carefree lyrics. makes me wanna go to a show. right. now. surfy garagey goodness
only complaint about this song is that it's too short. this is one of 13 tracks thom yorke's been listening to lately, according to radiohead's website. this was a standout track for me. 2 blunted -arca
can't really say anything about this song except that it's perfect '60s pop--except made today. tell me (what's on your mind) by allah las. the psychedelic/garage rock loving self in me is dancing right now.
if i told you that i woke up at 4 in the morning to write about this song, i wouldn't be completely lying. i couldn't get any sleep and when i finally owned up to it and put my glasses on and got onto my computer, i realized that i couldn't stop humming this song. it's one of those songs that i was introduced to awhile ago by a good friend of mine, but never fully appreciated until probably right now. excellent remix, groovy production by trentemoller. denmark, dude. enjoy.
this mixtape, titled "smoke in your room", has been put off for awhile. but now its finally here. groovy basslines, shuffling beats, angular-sounding percussion, hip hop and techno.
this track is unreal. begins pretty hard, ends even harder. french techno at its best. belgium by gesaffelstein.
Title track off the new DIrty Projectors album. It's too groovy. Rest of the album is great as well, but this track is a great way to get things started.
a mixtape i made last night of songs i've been into as of late. dig it.
snagglepuss is a mixtape i made specifically for beatstock. on it are songs both old and new. tried to capture a vibe. check it out.
solid downtempo/experimental hip hop beats that you want to listen to during after hours, as the EP's title suggests. big fan of this guy.
New tune from the up and coming post-dub producer Matt Relton, aka Kidnap Kid.
definitely just last.fm'd similar artists to little joy and found this pretty brazilian folk singer from sao paulo named mallu magalhães. having never heard of her before, her voice is reminiscent of the binki-sung songs off of the eponymous little joy album. awesome summer vibe. awesome song.
brooklyn hip hop, 1996, Rawkus records. rugged verses over a flangey, metallic instrumental. almost reminiscent of a slowed down, futuristic version of ice cube's "good day." el-p, and big juss in their prime.
an edit of an already bangin' moombahton track. look out for the slow-as-molasses drop he throws in the middle of a hyped up trap build-up. nothing else to be said, really. fun track.
this song is called "work" by leaf erikson feat. ac pull and buried glory. a song that truly knows how terrible it sometimes feels to go to work. the stabs of grainy piano samples that fill in the gaps of the slightly swung beat make you bob your head and put a semi-stupid grin on your face while you listen. its got a grainy, old school tinge to it as well, which is undeniably sexy. 2007. if you like what you hear, peep the rest of the album entitled: the great big nothing
