Mehrgān is a name-day feast and is celebrated since the pre-Islamic era to honour the Yazata of “Mehr” which is responsible for friendship, affection and love. It is also widely referred to as Persian Festival of Autumn.
Mehrgan is also corresponded to the day farmers collected their crops. They thus also celebrated the fact God had given them food to survive the coming cold months.
Happy Mehrgān Everybody <3

My Tehran
These are the photos from my recent trip back home, Tehran. A city full of contradictions and harmony, in many different ways. It’s a city full of life with all its happy and sad stories. For more photos go to: https://www.facebook.com/afra.pourdad.photography
Feel free to share (giving credits to the team) and let the world see it. Much love. Afra. Model: Shabnam Molavi Designer: Zarir Where: Tajrish bazaar, Tehran.
