Tricks for that oily face
A couple little tricks I have learned having an oily nose: • After applying primer/ moisturizer apply powder to the oily area before applying your foundation. Don’t apply a lot, just enough to cover the surface. This will help your foundation stick to your face. • Whatever you do, don’t touch your face. The oils from your hands will rub off on your face and will cause your makeup to slide right off. Be more mindful and not touch your face if you can.
• Baby powder is your best friend. I love baby powder, I use it for everything. From applying baby powder to my thighs, preventing them from chaffing, to absorbing odor and moisture from my shoes. Baby powder is an all in one. So when doing my makeup, I wash my face the night before and applied my moisturizer, in the morning I apply my primer and brush my teeth. Let the primer soak into my skin. Then I apply a powder a shade or two darker than my skin color to my nose (I bought the wrong color by accident and I have used it ever since). After the powder, I apply my foundation using a brush, then using a beauty blender to apply my foundation to my nose. I set my makeup on my nose (or where ever you are oily) with baby powder. I have learned to have a brush specifically for baby powder, I tried using my powder brush with my baby powder but then my powder wasn’t applying correctly. So use a brush specifically for baby powder if you can. If not you can use your powder brush and see how well it works for you. Another alternative is dabbing the baby powder with a piece of tissue. You don’t need a lot, but just dab it on your oily areas to set your makeup. While I wait, I do my eyes, eyebrows, and concealer under my eyes. Either use a brush or tissue and wipe off the baby powder. This will absorb any oils on your face and will help keep your makeup on longer. I apply my contour, highlighter, and powder like usual.
This isn’t guaranteed to work for you, this is what I have noticed works for me. One solution may work well for someone and not for the other. So experiment and see what works best for you!
