Account Suspended; I NEED to talk about something; HATRED in the community.

Malkira, here. I have had this account since I first read the series and ACOTAR was only a month old. This blog meant the WORLD to me. I used to RP as Tamlin and back then, Rhysand account got all the hate. Then ACOMAF came out and it took a 180. That was fine and all with the favorite in the series changing. But the hate. It was...rough. I am a writer. I look deep into character. And guess what? I still liked Tamlin. Why does that matter? It shouldn't. But it did. Hate mail. Called an abuse apologist. Told to kill myself. One person insisted I reminded her of my rapist. BECAUSE OF A FICTIONAL CHARACTER I CHOSE TO ADORE. I’ve been abused. He history is rough. And on here, it was my escape. I loved this series. It saved me from a really rough spot where I did think of ending my life. And some people only edged that on. BECAUSE I LIKED A CHARACTER. Some people went as far as reporting me and after a good time of hate, they won. I lost this account. I believe for a good TWO years. I fell into a depression. I had so much saved on here and my theory. I loved this account. I needed it. Well, I casually came back, checked the wrong account and after being reported and deleted for so long, I’m actually here. Sort of hard to believe. I just sincerely hope the hate is gone. So, hello and hopes to a new rebirth.

Azriel: already did all the homework for the upcoming month.

Elain: struggles with a problem and azriel lets her copy his work.

Nesta: doesn’t get any of it but is too proud to admit it.

Cassian : writes “jesus is always the answer” for every single question

Rhysand: *says through the bond* Feyre are u homework? because I’ll slam you on a the table and do u all night long.

Feyre: *breaks pencil* RHYSAND STOP DISTRACTING ME

Mor: I’m not doing my homework, it has ew in it for a reason.

Amren: *says to the illyrians* If one of you overgrown bats doesn’t let me copy your homework, I’ll make sure to tell everyone about that one time when you asked me if it took twins 18 months to be born.

Varian: *swoons over Amren*

Tamlin: For the last time Ianthe, I DONT NEED YOU TO DO MY HOMEWORK.

Tarquin: *still in pre-school, doesn’t get assigned hw*

Beron: *burns homework to ashes*

Helion: shamelessly flirts with the teacher to get out of doing homework.

Thesan: *teacher’s pet, doesn’t have to do it*

Kallias & Vivianne: dropped out of school to pursue their love

Amarantha: kicked out of school for bullying the highlords.

Lucien: does homework perfectly, but forgets to put his name on top.

The Suriel: *leans in pretending to ask feyre a question* hey girl hey did u hear that bryaxis asked stryga out? ur turn spill the tea

Inktober Day 2 - Tamlin

I was about to turn down the hallway when a tall male figure appeared before me. The moonlight from the open window turned his mask silver, and his golden hair—unbound and crowned with laurel leaves—gleamed.

Lowkey super happy with how I’ve improved as an artist and after rereading the acotar series for like the 5th time, I decided to draw my favorite Illyrian! Hope you guys like it too! :)

I keep seeing a lot of Nesta hate on here, and I want to throw something out there

So lots of people really despise Nesta. There are numerous reasons as to why - she’s too bitchy, she’s a bland and boring character etc. and everyone is totally entitled to have their own opinions on this (and I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, just want to put my two cents in :))

But it’s BECAUSE of those things that I personally think she’s the most interesting character in the entire acotar series.

Everybody in acotar is just so … good? Like nobody seems to have flaws. Forgivable flaws (like Feysand’s PTSD, or Cassian’s hotheadedness, or Mor’s fear of opening up about her beautiful gayness, Amren’s fiestiness etc), yes. But these are all “flaws” that aren’t truly fundamental to their character, and if anything we love them MORE because of them. And don’t get me wrong, I love all of the characters so so much, I would die for any of them. But after awhile that “goodness” starts to become … not boring, but standard. And while it is so beautiful being able to read a book where everyone is trying to do and be their best…. I personally find it so fucking refreshing that Nesta Does. Not. Give. A. Shit.

Can you argue that Nesta’s lack of “goodness” isnt healthy? Absolutely (and I would agree). But I also think it can be argued that it’s the same reason that she is so interesting as a character. We haven’t had enough from her POV to really explore this negative mindset and I’m so excited for the next acotar book so we can finally get the chance to figure her out.

Nesta reminds me a lot of Aelin too. Both are fundamentally flawed and don’t apologise for being this way. But you can’t praise Aelin for it and then slam Nesta for not following the happy personality path… ja feel?

If you want to read a book full of only “good characters” that is 100% fine, but I think most people would agree that it’s the “bad” characters who make the book more interesting. And if Nesta was simply happy like Elain, or lovely like Feyre…. she wouldn’t be Nesta, and I think that’s a real shame.
