I'm happy to hear you're a fan of Unknown from Don't Take This Risk! And of course, Unknown is pleased, too.
If you want to find out his real name, keep your eye out for Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces)! Unknown is going to be in that game and you'll find out his real name, history and everything. And you can romance him, too.
Just please be patient as you wait for the game to be finished! You can simply follow this tumblr if you'd like an update on when that may be. At the moment, I do post sporadic updates while I focus on the art and such, but once I have more space in my life for updating social media, I'll be sure to post more then.

X is so funny to me. He's in a prison for THE worst of the worst. But he's also kind of a dork. Like I know for a fact that he'd give anyone who didn't immediately piss him off a pep talk if he saw they really needed one. Maybe even a pat on the back, or an awkward hug if he likes them enough.
He's a criminal but he's also just, like. Some guy. Who also has supernatural powers. But just a guy. Other than obviously whatever he did to get in the prison in the first place, he's pretty chill.
Definitely better than whatever some of the people on Virgo island got going on.........
What if the phoenix used to be like, terrifying in battle.
Think abt it. The whole thing with Phoenixes in real life legends is that they came back after death. And in war 13th day theres that whole thing where you can only kill a Phoenix a specific way, likely to ensure they're actually, fully dead, heavily implying the phoenix on virgo island can come back after theyre killed if you don't do it right. There's also something in the death room i think where ambrosia dies for a second but then shes back and she kills you?? But i havent pkayed that game in a while so i need to do more research.
And think about it. From a war-mongering standpoint, that kind of power would turn the tide of literally any war. You have basically infinite soldiers, right??? Not to mention, their ability to create mental barriers. WHAT would that reasonably be used for other than defending oneself, something greatly appreciated in a fight.
The phoenix as we know them now are peaceful, yes, and theres nothing in the game that ive seen that indicates this is a recent development. They've been peaceful at least long enough for that to be a concrete part of their identity. But a place like virgo island has GOT to have some extensive history. Theres no telling what the phoenix from a couple of centuries ago were doing.
And, I'm not sure what the details are on how to properly kill a phoenix - if we even have that info yet - but maybe they turned peaceful because, as soon as other clans figured out how to kill one for good, their biggest advantage was lost. Maybe this was the beginnings of a reform for their clan that led them to where they are now.
Hello! I'm not quite sure how to address you and such. But I'm a big fan of your games. It's addicting especially "don't take this risk". It inspired me so much that I kinda wanted to write a story based on the game and webtoon, would you be okay with that? Hey everyone! Hope you're having a happy Friday! I thought of a kind of neat idea- if @poisonappletales BATW cast had an Instagram, what would their usernames be and what would they post? Check out what @cursedcreator-pat and I brainstormed under the cut!
Barium: @KingofVirgoIsland & @theBariumexperience
So for Barium, because he's the King, he gets two accounts; his personal account, and a more official account. They would both be "verified," and have the blue checkmark. For the official account, he would most likely have an assistant helping him run that one, and post about political aspects of his rule, such as new policies and clan interactions. On the personal one, because Barium loves to travel, I imagine his posts would be related to trips he embarks on, his mistresses, maybe a selfie or two!
Alexandrite: @thePrince
Because of how secluded he is, I imagine that although Alexandrite's username would also be "verified" with the blue checkmark, his account would be set to private, he would make no posts, and would only follow his fellow Vi family members. His icon would be the royal sigil if the Vi have one. He would never comment on a post, either. Most would forget the Prince even has an account at all!
Night: @Nightscapades
99% of Night's follow list would be women. He would post about his daring antics, dates, maybe a post here or there about his training or a workout regiment. I could see him sending Ambrosia a friend request, to which she would block him without hesitation. He would also like the posts of his fellow family members. I could see Jasmine liking many of his posts too.
Onyx: @Onyx
Not surprisingly, Onyx's username is straight and to the point. I could see him posting multiple pictures of just his sword, weapons or places where an execution would be held, listing the date with a caption along the lines of "a reminder of my unwavering loyalty to the King." Barium may ask Onyx not to tag him so much in his posts. Onyx will only follow Barium and Alexandrite and like only their posts.
Arsenik: @HarkentheHeart
I love this username for Arsenik because he really does have a gentle heart. I could see him posting a lot of nature photos, favorite books to read and his appreciation for them, musing over the beauty and simplicity of things. He would without a doubt like and offer praise on all of Ambrosia's posts, and like all of Viktor's as well. I could also see him restricting Wildfire. Maybe if he felt brave enough, he might even share some of his poetry, but only with "close friends."
Viktor: @Viktorious
Viktor has robust energy, and so does his username! I could see the younger of the two Hulder posting pictures and videos from all the parties and festivities he attends, talking about the food, maybe what music he liked (or didn't,) and post about about any successful hunts he has. Unlike Arsenik, I could see him posting an occasional, but tasteful selfie. He tries to make sure his photos and videos are decent quality like his uncle's, and admires his creative use of editing.
Chase: @CuttotheChase
I could see Chase posting a lot of pictures with his family, but a funny thought I had would be that many of the pictures he would take would be blurry or hard to make out. "Took this while running from a bear!" "Got this while catching a toad!" Wildfire and Viktor might comment about the low photo quality, while Ambrosia would comment asking him to elaborate and like all his posts regardless.
Wind: @dontmesswithWind
His account is set to private. He has all of the Vi and the Hulder blocked. He rarely posts anything, following mostly only fellow Imugi. He will only like Ambrosia's posts. If he does comment, it will be very short, and blunt at times. True to his nature, Wind is no social butterfly!
X: @Xmarksthespot
Assuming for the sake of writing this that prisoners have access to a phone and the internet, X would be posting a LOT of selfies. After all, how much can you post about from inside a prison? I imagine he would be commenting and liking others' posts more than adding his own content. I could see him being a bit of a "troll" toward the others out of boredom, with the exception of Ambrosia, of course.
Unknown: @sexyandyouknowit
Speaking of a lot of selfies, Unknown would be posting the most out of everyone. I could see Instagram even flagging some of them. He may even post a picture of a random thing just for the sake of posting it. Some of his posts may be borderline disturbing or creepy, but he'll find some way to make a joke out of it. Arsenik may try to report his account, but Instagram hasn't taken it down yet.
Ambrosia: @anAmbrosiaaday
I imagine Ambrosia's account to include a lot of pictures of meals or desserts she cooks, seasonal decor, flowers and plants, discussions of medicinal herbs, spices, recipes, gratitude and positive affirmations. I chose this username for her because it's a play on "an apple a day," alluding to her cooking and the fact that she's a healer. It's hopefully just as adorable and precious as she is! She also loves to like and leave nice comments on her cousins' posts, as well as those of her friends.
Rosemary: @Rosemarryme & @ juicyfruits
You're probably wondering why Rosemary has two accounts here. Well... because one of them is supposed to be a secret! Cursed Creator was a huge help with these ideas, and I thought her idea for her personal account was so cute. I imagine that she would post a lot of reels offering her thoughts and opinions on certain things, or talk about her day. The second account is a private account that she uses to follow and like users that she "fangirls" over, but doesn't want others to know. I imagined that somehow Ambrosia knows about it, but she would never do anything to upset a beloved cousin. The secret's safe with her!
Jasmine: @simplyJasmine
We don't know a great deal about Jasmine yet, but one thing is for sure- she places a lot of effort into keeping up appearances. I could see her posting a lot of "cottagecore" aesthetic, as well as "simple" but tasteful hair and outfit tips. She may even feature Ambrosia in some of her posts and videos as well!
Bo Peep: @peepaboo
I could see Bo Peep posting a lot with fashion, makeup, and hair, but not in the same way as Jasmine. Bo is more of a party girl, so her posts would have a different energy to them! Flashy colors and materials, upbeat music, "kissy faces," and constantly collabing with and tagging Barium. I could also see her making posts including cute animals, embracing her Cucuy nature. I love this username for her, because it's fun like she is!
Wildfire: @Wildnfrisky
There's no doubt that Wildfire speaks her mind whether anyone likes it or not. Although I could see her commenting on other's content more than posting her own, I could also see her posting selfies in her armor, portraying herself as a "tough girl," showing off her fighting skills, and constantly featuring and tagging her bestie, Brooks. Arsenik would probably have to block or restrict her from her constant attempts to "slide into his DMs."
Brooks: @BoldnBrooks
True to her Valkyrie nature, Brooks is a wild and free spirit. I could see her posting similarly as Wildfire would- showing off her strengths and fighting skills. However, they're not exactly the same! Brooks isn't as serious as Wildfire all the time, and I could see her perhaps posting "Instagram lives" of hanging out with a cute guy, or just causing general chaos after the sun goes down. She would put far more of her antics on display!

I call him Antares! This is taken from the brightest star of the Scorpius constellation, which is also referred to as "the heart of the scorpion". considering that and the fact that its red in color, like unknown's blanket, i thought it was the perfect name.
I have also previously called him Blumiere (based off count bleck's real name from super paper mario - though i didn't use this name for long,) and Eros (based off the greek love god - this is the name i used the longest.)

I'll actually be on the Discord today (July 30, 2023) at 6 PM (PST)! Now, I'm actually in the midst of recovering from a mild concussion after having an accidental collision so I'm not going to be on that long. However, I wanted to at least pass by briefly.
While I'm recovering, I'm supposed to minimize my screen time, and since I can't work on anything too thought-intensive at the moment, I'd like to use my limited screentime by spending it with those of you who can visit.
For a game update, I am just about caught up with all my lost work (before the accident happened, haha). I have 3 more frames to go and then I will be back to where I was before I lost my files. So once I finish recovering, I can hop back to it!

Beauty and the War characters and Melanie Martinez songs!
Hello, everyone! I hope you're enjoying your 4th of July! I've been thinking about this for a while- I love Melanie's music, and I wanted to see if I could decently match her songs up with the @poisonappletales cast! Just a disclaimer; some of Melanie's songs do deal with serious issues and are chock full of curse words. Not recommended for the youngsters! Also, be mindful that I will be referencing some scenes from the Beauty and the War Demo as well as other games, so potential spoilers ahead!
Barium: Play Date
You know I give a f*** about you every day
Guess it's time that I tell you the truth

Don't want to leave this play date with you
Being the King of Virgo Island and having a harem, Barium has to allocate his time between everyone and everything that demands his attention. Though generous, he may come off as a bit too materialistic as well. What's wrong with curling up with a simple movie and a snack? If he's going to have one on one time with one of his mistresses, or a "play date-" it can probably be difficult for those who feel very attached to him to deal with times when he's occupied elsewhere. There's a mixture of longing and bitterness that he only has a fraction of his heart reserved for you, if he even has that much to spare. Who knows what would it take to turn that play date into something more?
Alexandrite: Spider Web

No one can leave once they merge
Very little is known about the "prince we do not speak of." However, the thought of him building a "network" of sorts- one where the Vi clan can operate by taking power from the other clans, seems to align with his implied style from other character testimony and perspectives thus far. As second in command behind his brother, it's no surprise that he would work more behind the scenes. Is he more tactical, strategically discreet, the hub of many eyes which report back to him their findings? Also, if Wildfire's tales of him hold any truth, the idea of a spider draining the life from its prey may be more literal than figurative. If you're not sure what I mean, play War: 13th Day!
Night: Cake

Night has a reputation of being a player- a heartbreaker, and as Ambrosia describes, someone who should not be trusted. Seeing a woman as a piece of cake- something to be enjoyed once before moving on to the next thing, perfectly describes Night's character thus far. There's no deep connection or bonding, and that can be a huge turnoff to a woman looking for something more. Sure, he may offer a short time of thrill and high energy, which to some is extremely tempting. But I have to wonder, what kind of horns is this daredevil hiding? If Ambrosia's behavior towards him alone doesn't raise red flags, I don't know what will.
Onyx: Detention
I wanna go home, and you say "now is not the time"
F*** being all alone in the back of the classroom, ah
Start calling up my phone trying to say that I've been out of line
When all I ever asked was to go to the bathroom
There's no doubt that Onyx runs a tight ship as War Chief and he's a tough cookie to crack- if that's even possible. The idea of trying to reason with, let alone try to have a relationship with someone who is so utterly devoid of emotion, only dedicated to following the orders of his royal superiors can make those who deal with him feel like they're in their own form of "detention." Even asking a simple, harmless request could be easily denied if it's perceived to go against "orders." Get on the bad side of the Prince or the King, and you'll need a lot more than a hall pass to convince Onyx of being lenient!
Arsenik: Light Shower

Let's run into another dimension
You make me feel like I'm on drugs
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a soft spot for Arsenik. The song's quiet guitar strumming and the sound of water makes this one of the most soothing and comforting songs on Melanie's Portals album. Arsenik may be a warrior, but there's undoubtedly a gentle side to him- he has a love for poetry, paces with a flower in hand, speaks politely and respectfully... any woman he would give his heart to would be extremely lucky. But as the song suggests, there is a need to be cleansed- there are things Arsenik isn't ready to talk about yet but has implied that he has done or been involved in things he isn't proud of. There's also a certain someone he may view as a "light shower" as well, illuminating his heart.
Viktor: Training Wheels
You've been riding two wheelers all your life
It's not like I'm asking to be your wife
I wanna make you mine, but that's hard to say
Is this coming off in a cheesy way?
Viktor is far more vocal and blunt about his opinions and thoughts than his uncle at times, and it has been implied that although they may be closer in age, Arsenik occasionally acts more mature as well. Though Viktor is more outgoing, he still does have a kind heart. However, in his travels from fun activity to fun activity, some communication and social cues may be missed by him along the way. There is much that is still a learning experience for Viktor, and this is more of a reason why he deserves someone trustworthy by his side. The idea of a woman taking the wheel could spell trouble for him if they don't have pure intentions.
Chase: Carousel
And it's all fun and games

But you already bought a ticket
And there's no turning back now
Chase can be difficult to read at times because it's not easy to discern when he takes things seriously, unless a moment arises where he goes from zero to a hundred. Perhaps his motives for saying certain things or acting a certain way toward certain people will be revealed once the full game is released, but I feel that this sort of "tug of war" is portrayed perfectly in this song. You have to be a certain height to ride at the carnival... perhaps it could mean one or the other needs to see more eye to eye. He can be very charming at times, but his impulsive nature can also be hard to keep up with at times. There's a ticket, an emotional investment, that can turn into disappointment if the merriment doesn't live up to expectations. The question is, if his mind becomes set on something, does he put on blinders and go around in endless circles?
Wind: Moon Cycle
Acting like a real tough, furious
Blood swimming turn him amphibious
He says he doesn't care, that he's into this
It happens every time the new season hits
Wind was difficult to find a song for- and although much of this song in particular wouldn't apply to him as it covers a different topic entirely, some of the lyrics like the ones above have a "primal" feeling to it. Wind is an Imugi, with animal-like instincts. This means he is probably very in tune with nature, the "turning of the seasons," so to speak, with more heightened physical senses than members of the other clans. I can imagine that intimacy wouldn't bother him so much if it was engaged with someone he was in a relationship with. Also, the "acting real tough" lyric could speak to his "tsundere" type personality!
X: Gingerbread Man
I'm frosting

Prince charming
Just isn't the one that I think I need
Indeed, X is no prince charming! He's a tough cookie to crack- but not in the same way as Onyx, whom I used this phrase with earlier. He's a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to get it. You're not getting a hopeless romantic with him, and he'll make sure you know just exactly what you're signing up for! Lyrics later in the song paint the picture of a more intense sort of love, and that is certainly accurate with X. If you're not living as his prison buddy, then you'd most likely be on the run- possibly being an accomplice to any and all antics he chooses!
Unknown: Teddy Bear
I threw you out, I didn't outgrow you
I just didn't know you
But now you're back
And it's so terrifying how you paralyze me
Now you're showing up inside my home
Breathing deep into the phone
I'm so unprepared, I'm f***ing scared
It's an eerie coincidence how this song has made me think of Unknown for a long time, being that it's an extra track from Melanie's first album, Crybaby- and then this past March, Unknown placed a great emphasis on teddy bears for his White Day responses! That aside, many of the lyrics do describe behaviors which are consistent with Unknown's bizarre and borderline obsessive personality. He certainly knows how to put on the charm to lure his kittens in- but once you think he's warm and fuzzy, things become... uncomfortable, to put it mildly. There are a few songs I had considered for Unknown, including Spider Web, but ultimately decided this was the most closely relatable to him.
Ambrosia: Pluto
I'll bathe in my ashes
Rise like a phoenix
Show me who I am becoming
Pluto, transform me
Turn off my lonely
I'll sit with my silence
Fix all my conflict
The above lyrics are from a part of the chorus, and I feel they relate closely with Ambrosia. Not only from the mention of a Phoenix, but being Ambrosia is central to the story Crown Ruler is creating, we may witness a great deal of growth- a "transformation" throughout all the games and from interactions within them. The first verse of the song gives me major Death Room and DTTR comic vibes- "walls closing in," and "friends that I thought were forever." It is my hope that Ambrosia is able to overcome all obstacles and pain and live a happy life as she deserves!
Rosemary: Orange Juice
Ooh, I wish I could give you my set of eyes
'Cause I know your eyes ain't working, mmm
I wish I could tell you that you're fine, so fine
But you will find that disconcerting
Aside from the fact that Rosemary dyed her hair orange and that oranges seem to be one of her favorite fruits, this song from Melanie's K-12 album discusses a very serious topic- eating disorders. Indeed, being unhappy with how one's body looks is an everyday struggle that can lead one to cope in mentally and physically damaging ways. In the game- spoiler ahead- in a conversation with Ambrosia, Rosemary implies that the reason she dyed her hair and wears concealing attire is to draw attention away from her body. It's a vulnerable moment for the typically outspoken Phoenix, and anyone with a soul would chime in with Ambrosia to remind Rosemary that she's amazing and adorable!
Jasmine: Pity Party
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)
I'll cry until the candles burn down this place
I'll cry until my pity party's in flames
We don't know as much about Jasmine yet as we do some of the other characters. However, we have seen that like her cousin Rosemary, she can be very opinionated and is probably why they butt heads so much. She tends to be very invested in her appearance and becomes very annoyed if say, her hair is messed up. She also can become distressed by overall rowdiness. I ultimately settled on Pity Party for Jasmine because I can see her being very upset over not getting the recognition she feels she deserves. Her social investment also seems a bit exclusive, only being "inviting" toward certain people and clans she finds "advantageous" for herself and her family.
Bo Peep: Mrs. Potato Head
If you want a little more confidence
Potatoes turn to French fries, yeah it's common sense
All you need's a couple more condiments
And a hundred thousand dollars for some compliments
Bo Peep is fun, bubbly, and loves to go out with friends when not spending time with the King. As a mistress, she spends much of her time glammed up, adorned with the many jewels and other accessories that Barium gifts her with. Mrs. Potato Head, from Melanie's Crybaby album, is another song that addresses a serious topic- the need to feel "beautiful" through unnatural, often harmful means. Though plastic surgery probably doesn't exist on Virgo Island, just how far would Bo Peep go to maintain her "beauty?" How important is beauty to her above other traits? There's no doubt she's kind and is willing to lend a hand, but without all the makeup and shine, would she still feel like a star and worthy of love?
Wildfire: Pacify Her
I can't stand her whining

And loving her seems tiring

Wildfire is by no means warm and snuggly. She's rough around the edges, and can be vindictive and quite cruel at times. There's no denying the love triangle between her, Arsenik and Ambrosia- Crown Ruler even posted this in a relationship chart at one point! Though Wildfire often won't even admit how she truly feels to keep up the image of being tough as nails, she takes any opportunity she can to lash out at the kindhearted Phoenix perceived to stand between her and what she wants- a man who is a fierce warrior with a gentle heart. The finer details of these relationships have yet to be seen, but in the meantime, there's certainly a lot of jealousy and resentment on display.
Brooks: Mad Hatter

So what if I'm crazy? The best people are
Fellow Valkyrie and Wildfire's best friend, she's the more talkative and lively of the two. While Wildfire is usually more serious and sharp with her words, Brooks is often the spark to get her best friend going- or to spark some trouble around her. Brooks has absolutely no filter and will dive head first into something without a second thought, having fun while she's at it. It’s been ages, I’m so bad at keeping up with discord except for like 2 servers. So I never actually joined yet. But I hope you’re doing well, I occasionally still play dttr, then cringe at my awkward rp I had going with Unknown/Pyramus several years ago. But at the same time I am still down bad for him. I'm still mostly on a social media hiatus while I'm working on the game, only updating once a month or so. No, not at all. Arsenik has always been over 6 feet and one of the tallest members of the main cast - second only to Night. Wind and King Barium are the ones who are 5'11''. There was actually a time I mistyped Arsenik's height somewhere as 6'5'', I believe, but I meant to write 6'2'' (and I edited it afterwards to correct it).
The Hulder are known for being tall in general, and Arsenik is no exception.

He didn't have to tell you this. He clearly already knows what he's going to do before the door even closes. So why did he say this??
Because he loves you. Perhaps its not the greatest form of "love", but it is something. Something that drove him to reassure you he was being honest about your beauty, and something that made him express the appreciation to see someone before he killed himself, so he didn't die alone.
I have to wonder though. He knew, right, that hearing the gunshot go off, and knowing he was dead, would absolutely leave an irreversible scar on the player.
When you're still talking on the phone, he tries to tell you he's fine (lying) and will even say "let me not scandalize you" like he doesn't want you to worry or have that on your conscience. But when you're at his house, suddenly that changes.
It's like you gave him hope by actually appearing, and when you tell him you don't really love him, it kills whatever hope and care for anything he had left.
