It never does, but you donât realize the flaccidity of that until you are actually trying to make one thing in one language into another language. It is not the love that people cannot respond to, it is anxiety and desperation within the love which people feel like the grasp of a drowning person. When I suffered such anxieties and fears people felt it and were fearful of it. The love, the quiet, sure, unpossessive love they can respond to.

It took me years to realize silence could be an insult and was actually the worst insult. No one Iâd loved had inflicted it on me.
