Mac X Teyana Taylor

Here’s a collab we never thought we’d see! Teyana Taylor, singer-songwriter and actress teamed up with the iconic Mac to release this new collection! Let’s just say Teyana is doing something right because not just anyone gets to do a collaboration with Mac. It’s actually pretty rare we see celebrity collaborations. 

This collections features fun bright neon packaging which definitely represents Teyanas personality! She seems like a super fun person and very bright inside and out. Her style is so out there and unique. 

The products consist of 4 lipsticks, each $17. Then we have 4 of Macs famous Lipglasses, each $16.15. We also have a 4 lip liners, also $16.15 each. Lastly, we have a beautiful golden brown Mineralized Skinfinish.

Katherine, YouTube Star from The Ace Family Announces New and First Skincare Line; Just Another Money Grab? 

Yes, thats right, Katherine from The Ace Family recently announced that she has been working on and plans to release a skincare line on December 12 and 12:12 PT. Many people have speculations that this is just another money grab for the family. Austin, Katherine and the kids are one of the most popular families on YouTube with over 19 million subscribers but many feel that they are not authentic or real and that all they care about is making money. The family has a huge line of merch, an app that costs to even have access to their exclusive content, recently released their line of juice, and now this. A lot of people feel like this is out of Katherines element and that she just is doing it for more money. 

Katherine made a video explaining her love for skincare and this years long process to make and release this new brand. She talked about the history of her skin, dealing with terrible acne, and not finding products that worked for her. She even talked about the name and meaning of the brand and how it’s connected to her spiritual connection with her late grandmother. She received a reading from a psychic that told her she started this in another life, but never finished encouraging her to go through with the line.   

In my opinion, Katherine is simply using her platform to do and create something she has a passion for. I don’t know any young girl who wouldn’t want to have her own brand of clothes or makeup or whatever it is she likes. I think this is a dream true for Katherine and possibly something she wouldn’t ever have been able to create if it wasn’t for her platform and financial situation. She said in her video “I will be happy if I even sell one thing from this line”. I think Katherine is genuine and I truly believe the brand is very important to her… not just for the money.

Saw this while scrolling on Instagram and couldn’t agree more. I think society has taught us that makeup makes us beautiful and if we want to feel beautiful...we need to wear makeup. But this is false. Makeup isn't what makes us beautiful. What makes a person beautiful comes from who they are on the inside, their morals, their personality, their soul. Makeup is a form of creativity and an outlet for expressing oneself.

Kylie Cosmetics Stole Christmas with this Collection!

Kylie truly shook us all with this amazing limited edition How the Grinch Stole Christmas themed makeup collection just in time for the holiday. I don’t know about you guys, but I was beyond excited when I saw Kylie Cosmetics post they were releasing this collection. The packaging of these products are beautiful and beyond creative. This is definitely Kylies best collection yet...it may even be one of the best collections we’ve seen from a brand yet! 

This collection features a full array of products from glosses and lipsticks to eyeshadows and eyeliners, blushes and highlighters, and more! One could either purchase the products separately or in bundles and for the first time, she even included the PR box with all of the products on the site for purchase. 

Unfortunately, the collection sold out in only minutes after becoming available to the public. You were lucky if you could even get one of these items in your cart! Fans have been bombarding Kylie Cosmetics Instagram and Twitter begging for her to bring back the collection for another chance to purchase. There are no signs that she will bring it back but this isn’t the first time she called a collection limited edition and brought it back to please her fans. As a huge fan of a Grinch, I can only wish that she would listen to her fans so I can get my hands on this collection as well!

Saw this quote and couldn’t agree more! Having an abundance of different makeup brushes really will help you out with your makeup application. It’s also convenient when your favorite brushes are dirty and you don’t have time to clean them. My favorite brushes are by Morphe! Their brushes are so affordable and the best quality!

Halloween but Make It Quarantine! 🎃

Normally around Halloween, we see lots of different sick costumes made with makeup all over our feeds and youtube but this year was different. I didn’t notice as many makeup artists releasing much Halloween content because of COVID but not Nicole Guerriero. Nicole stayed true to herself and showed the media her amazing skills like she does every Halloween. I think a lot of artists were discouraged this year or maybe thought what's the point? Nicole said not me, still served us looks! First, we have the genie from the Disney princess movie, Aladin. Next up is a glammed out galactic alien! Lastly, we have a classic red devil... with a manicure. For these looks, she used body paint, eyeshadows for definition and shadows, and latex glue for the attachments and special effects. 

These looks are incredible and so fun! Although we couldn’t do much this year for Halloween, I think it was necessary to still keep the holiday alive and do fun stuff like this with a small group of friends or family. Not Sure What Foundation Works Best for Your Skin? Read Me!!!

There are so many foundations out on the market and find the perfect foundation for your skin can be challenging...maybe even overwhelming. Well, guess what? Beautyteabykay has your back and I’m here to help you!

Now, there are different types of skin types, and it's really important to use a foundation that is made to fulfill your skin needs! One type of skin type is oily skin. 

Oily skin: If you have oily skin, it means your sebaceous glands¹ are producing more oil than usual to keep hair and skin moisturized. Causes consist of genetics, hormones, climate, and sometimes just good ol’ puberty. If you fall into this category, you want to stay away from foundations that have oil in the ingredients. The foundation will just make you look like a grease ball. 

Foundation Recommendations: Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r, Too Faced Born This Way, Maybelline Fit Me in the Matte series, Estee Lauder Double-Wear. These are just a few of my favorites for oily skin but there are many great foundations out there made for you!

Dry Skin: If you have dry skin, your skin is thirsty for those oils! It could be because the weather is cold and dry or from using products with harsh chemicals in it. 

Foundation Recommendations: Some foundations that are perfect for you such as Fenty Beauty Hydrating Longwear, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me in the dewy collection. Once again there are many great foundations out there but these four are beautiful and I highly recommend. 

Combination Skin: Combo skin is exactly what it sounds like, a mix of both dry and oily. Normally combo skin people are oily in their t-zone and dry on the outer portion of their face. When you have combination skin, you can really get away with many different types of foundations depending on how your skin is reacting at the moment. You can really get away with wearing most of these foundations mentioned, if not all of them.

Makeup Tips for Beginners

There are a lot of techniques that can either make or break that beat face of yours. I’m here to make sure your makeup comes out flawless! Here’s a few that are really helpful. 

First things first ladies! You must make sure your foundation color always matches! Don’t test it on the back of your hand but on your neck. Your neck is what the foundation needs to match and will be the dead giveaway if it doesn’t. Also, know your undertone!

2. ALWAYS set your liquid makeup with some type of powder but nothing too heavy because you don’t want to look cakey. If you don’t set your liquids, they’re gonna move and rub off your face easily leaving your skin not looking too great. To it off with a setting spray for extra hold. 

3. You really should always apply a primer to your skin after cleansing and moisturizing your face. Wearing a primer under your makeup can help with the longevity of your makeup as well as the finish. Most importantly, it helps protects your skin from all that makeup. 

4. Don’t pull at the skin around your eyes when doing eyeliner. This causes wrinkles and also changes the shape of your eye so how will you know you’re putting the liner in the right place? 

5.  Stop dragging your blush into your hairline! Blush goes on the apple of your cheeks. You don’t want to look like a tomato.

Another Makeup Drop! Colourpop Cosmetics is infamous for their Disney and other fun collabs but this one really shook the beauty community! They released their new holiday collection with Disney and the theme is Hocus Pocus based on the iconic 90′s Halloween movie loved by many! The collection features a 15 pan eyeshadow palette retailing at $22, three lipsticks followed by three lip liners $16 each, three colored liners retailing at $8 each, three different lash options for $9 each, and two glitter gels $9 each. 

As of right now, the collection is sold out. You can either shop these products individually or the entire bundle for $140 as well as some smaller bundles they offer. They did two drops so far, one on October 1 and a second on the 4th, both of which sold out in a matter of minutes. The company did announce that there will be another chance to snatch the collection but unfortunately haven’t given us a date so be on the lookout!

Another Celebrity Makeup Brand!

Yup! You read right. Selena Gomez recently launched her own makeup brand. When asked by famous makeup artist and YouTuber Nikkie Tutorials video two weeks ago, what inspired her to create Rare Beauty, the singer-actress stated, “You can see a lot of people get affected and feel pressure to look a certain way. I immediately was like I want to do this as long as I can make this people feel comfortable in and something that’s easy but special”. The beauty community wasn’t too excited to hear that another celebrity with no makeup background releasing a line but everyone was pleasantly surprised to see that Selena was doing this for other reasons than just the money. She also talked about in the video that she wants Rare Beauty and its quality to stand on its own. 

There’s been a lot of good talk about the brand and many of the products so far with the exception of a couple that numerous influencers disliked… but you can expect this with any new brand. The line features an entire full face of makeup. They even came out with tools to apply the makeup. The industry was shook to see Rare Beauty’s foundation comes in a whopping 48 shades outnumbering Rihanna’s 40! Selena stated that she wanted to be inclusive and include everyone. 

They also have started the Rare Impact Fund and strive to reach a goal of $100 million dollars within the next ten years to help fill the gas in mental health services. They also include a list of mental health lines on their website for anyone struggling with mental illness.

After judging the brand without listening to the message behind the brand, I now believe in the brand and everything it stands for. I can’t wait to try some of the products out and encourage you to all try at least one thing from Rare Beauty. The brand can be found in stores at Sephora only or online at rarebeauty.com.
