February Milestones
February has been a month chock full of milestones, and while I ordinarily post things like this on my Blogger blog, I wanted to put this out there because this month has been so exciting for me.
This month I published 38 hub pages, nothing on Squidoo, Wizzley or Zujava. Of those, three were awarded the Editor's Choice award and one became Hub of the Day. Another one of my hubs -- this one from January, was also awarded Hub of the Day.
The best part is that I completed my second 30 hubs in 30 days challenge, which was quite a pleasant surprise. Obviously I went over that number, and my new goal is to publish at least 30 hubs every month. I'm working on making sure that all of my accounts are "current," which to me indicates that there are over 5 hubs on each account to make it an "official" Hubpages account.
My beckisgiftguides account current has 66 featured hubs on it with 36 followers and over 50,000 page views (actually more than 80,000 at the the time of writing). The way that I'm going, I'll be into the hundreds in no time with a very good body of work prepared.
At the moment I'm mostly covering topics relating to Easter and The Hunger Games, but if you have something you'd like to see, please feel free to send me an ask and I'll let you know if I can swing it!
Thanks for reading!
The reasons Christians celebrate Easter are well known and relatively obvious. What most people don't know much about is the reasons that non-Christians celebrate Easter. Reasons differ.
Easter is widely known as a Christian holiday. But why is it that Christians celebrate Easter, and what is its religious significance to Christians? Christian religious observance is only one Easter.
For fans of The Hunger Games, the movie just didn't quite cut it. But what are the reasons that it fell flat? Could they have been avoided, or must they simply be forgiven? If the book is better, why?
Have you ever wondered where the Easter bunny came from, and how we developed the modern Easter traditions we practice today, such as the bunnies who lay eggs and the baskets? Read on for more info!
While it's certainly best to avoid purchasing a live rabbit for your child for Easter, there's no reason not to get her a stuffed variety of the animal! You'll find some excellent options here!
Pet flipping is becoming an increasing problem, but many pet owners don't now what this practice is or why it's so disastrous for them and for their pets. Information is the best defense against this!
Having read and enjoyed The Hunger Games, you may have been pressured by someone in the fandom to check out Battle Royale. If you haven't already, you need to see the manga and the novel!
An examination of the relationships Katniss maintains throughout The Hunger Games Trilogy, this article explores her interactions with people in light of whether or not she is a hero in her own right.
Why buy chocolate Easter eggs from the store when you can make your own amazing treats at home? When you have control over the Easter eggs that you make, they're much more special! Here's how.
The date of Easter changes every year because its date is dependent on astronomical cycles. If you want to plan your Lenten fasts or know when to get ready for the Easter Bunny, you need the date!
Every Easter the discount store shelves pile up with all sorts of goodies, from Easter eggs to chocolate bunnies. But what do these things have to do with the resurrection of Jesus? Not much.
What child wouldn't love to get a real, live bunny for Easter? Maybe it seems like a good time to teach a child some responsibility, but parents should think carefully before giving a live animal.
Do you want to color your Easter Eggs naturally this year instead of using commercial food dyes for your shells? You'll probably have some ingredients around the house that will work to color eggs!
Blown eggs will make great decorations for Easters to come well into the future, so why not blow out your eggs instead of using the traditional hard-boiled version? Make eggs for an egg tree!
One of the greatest joys of needle crafts is finding materials that you really love to use. This is personal for everybody, but it's important to make sure that you're using supplies that comfort you.
