Question about feeding dandelions to Uromastyx/tortoises
I currently have an absolute bucket load of dandelions growing in my back garden. I would like to pick them out to feed to our Uro and torts, however I am concerned about them not being safe (in case a neighbourhood cat or something could have peed on them or something similar) What is the best way to ensure that they are safe for feeding, or how should they be washed before offering them? Thank you.
Our babies 😍😍😍😍😍😍 Still need to name the one at the bottom though
After following @stickyfrogs for so long, I decided to research upon the frogs because I wanted some, got all my tank set up and everything ready and esterday finally found some! I only managed to get two but I love them anyway, this one doesn't have a name yet, the other one is called Rocket.
This is where Ostaria is buried, along with her favourite hide and a little plaque. We love you
After Ostaria passing my boyfriend phoned up the breeder we got her from (in a complete and utter mess, probably unable to get his words out) and the breeder said we could have another one but he has a distorted shell and pattern, which we were absolutely fine with as Bowser (left) needs a friend, he lived with his brothers and sisters from birth, then Ostaria after coming home with us, so I didn't want him on his own, so today we went to get our new addition, please welcome our little guy, Dexter (right)
All of my weight pictures, ranging from about December 30th, 2016 to February 23, 2017!
Look at the size difference in him! So proud!
Ostaria has now been buried, we are both still extremely upset, but feel better now that she's somewhere that isn't a bowl or wrapped up in a towel on the table, it honestly hurt like hell to bury my little baby girl, but I hope she knows that I love her more than anything, no one will ever come close to you Oz, mommy loves you now and forever R.I.P
There might not be any posts from us for a while as yesterday (20/02) Ostaria (Indian Star Tortoise) passed away yesterday and we’re both an emotional wreck right now.
we’re having a funeral for her tonight and we’ve got a little plaque with her name and dates on.
I got a new tattoo today & I love it!
Guzma took a liking to our fake candles...
My co-workers son no longer has time to look after his corn snake so he's let me and my partner have it, he's such a beautiful snake, now to play the name game...
I noticed that Pandora was shedding so I sprayed her and it's safe to say, she wasn't happy with me at all
I plan on getting a Kenyan sand boa, it'll be my first snake and I've been doing research. I've read that it's okay to use sand as a substrate, but here on Tumblr i saw someone say sand is dangerous? Should I use sand or no?
I do know that sand can be a breeding ground for bacteria, and have seen many people recommend against putting them in sand for both that reason, and because it can clog vents. However since I don’t own a sand boa I am unsure of exact reasons against it :(
Me and my boyfriend used sand when we first got our KSB but we've moved him on to aspen now because we just didn't trust sand because we didn't want him to get ill from ingesting the sand, he's been fine on the aspen and has no problem digging.
I got Guzma out for 2 minutes and he didn't curl up into a ball this time! He's so beautiful ❤
Quick question
I've had a google but I'm at a loss... I live in England, and am considering getting a tub for my ball python but I absolutely have no idea where I can buy one from... Can someone help me out?
I can't seem to find Cass... I think she may have decided to hide somewhere. 10/10
