With everything happening between US soccer and the USWNT and the CWHL folding and NWHL still navigating All That™️and the WNBA in playoffs I haven’t seen anyone bring this up

The World Rugby Association just became one of the first (maybe the actual first I haven’t checked don’t quote me?) major sporting associations to make their World Cup names gender neutral. They’ve completely done away with the the term “Women’s World Cup” in favor of Rugby World Cup 2021 along with a commitment to supporting women’s rugby at every level.

There’s not a lot of us talking about rugby, but this is a HUGE step forward for us and it shouldn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the sporting world🤷🏼‍♀️
