Here’s a snippet from actress Evelyn Keyes’ (racy) autobiography. She loved her role in “The Prowler” with Van Heflin but wrote remarkably little about it. However, she did write this about a chivalrous moment with Van (whose line reads like something out of a 1930s crime flick):
Charles is Charles Vidor, with whom Evelyn was having an affair. The date was likely sometime in 1940-41.
