In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. I, on the other hand, just like photographing my beersies.

Night Spirit 2017 by @kererubrewing. Another one from the cellar, this is a luxurious Barrel-Aged imperial stout from NZ. Intense roasted black malt flavours with lingering oak.

Mongrel 2018 by @bacchus_brewing, a blend of Barrel-Aged imperial stouts, barrel aged and cellared for, wow, 8 years. It's all heavy molasses and strong bourbon flavours.

Whisky Barrel-Aged Black Barleywine by @hawkersbeer. Super malty, black, but not robust. Great caramel and toffee flavours, whisky lingering. Super approachable for such a heavyweight beer.

XI by @hawkersbeer is a barrel-aged imperial coffee stout brewed for the brewery's 11th birthday. The coffee and the bourbon barrel play really nicely together to make this a beautifully smooth, rich stout.

Breadwinner II by @bacchus_brewing is an imperial pastry stout that really captures the essence of banana bread and peanut.

AbFabergé, Rum Reserve, by @bacchus_brewing is an imperial choc pastry stout aged in rum barrels. A lovely choc RIS with a rum ball bite.

Jubbly IPA by @brunyislandcheese. It's a pretty nice IPA, with great stone fruit flavours.

Red Pelt by @foxhatbrewing in SA. It's a Red IPA, so it's got a lovely fruity nose with melon and resin, but also a delicious red malt that just fills your mouth with goodness.

Il Motorino by @garageproject is a pretty delicious Italian Pils. Crisp.

Malt'n' Lava is a Red IPA by @commonpeoplebrewing. Nice bit of toffee in the malt.

Flight by Night by @deedsbrewing is a bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout, with chai and vanilla.

Dog D by @brewdogofficial. Work is done for the year, time to pull out one from the vaults, for ten years in this case. Dog D is a phenomenal imperial stout, with cacao, coffee and Naga chilli. The nose is chocolatey, the malt is a stonking mix of roasty notes, rounded and mellow and full of umami. Barely any bitterness (or head), but a boozy, burny aftertaste.

Ramjet 2024 by @boatrockerbrew is a Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, aged in Starward barrels. Perfect.

Charlotte's Dark Web by @bacchus_brewing is a Barleywine/Scotch ale aged in Darkness Port Charlotte 13 yo Olorosa barrels. It's lighter on the malt than a barrel-aged stout, but still full of dark fruit flavours and still fantastically peaty.

That was Ramjet 2023 by @boatrockerbrew. A dependably fantastic barrel-aged imperial stout, that was their 10th year of making this beer. Aged in Starward whiskey barrels.
