Just got back from my babymoon in Mayakoba near Playa del Carmen, Mexico - and it was incredible!! The Banyan Tree is built in an Asian style and upon arrival you immediately feel relaxed and serene. Every room is a villa with its own pool (you could practically jump into the pool from bed), the entire property is surrounded by mangroves (rivers) filled with birds, iguanas and fish.

The town of Playa is way more developed than I expected - TONS of restaurants - 5th Ave is a pedestrian street lined with higher end restaurants of great variety - on one block there was a Mexican place, 2 Italian places, an Argentine place and a Lebanese place - not exactly what I had in mind...so we headed off the tourist track to the taco stands and filled up on tacos del pastor and gringas at Fagon - very tasty!!

I just got back from the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas - let me tell you - this place is amazing!! The rooms are spacious with gigantic showers and great beds, Marquee is insane (I am serious, I was a little scared for my life and that of my unborn child), the restaurants are incredible (Jaleo, STK, Scarpetta, Blue Ribbon, etc) and I got to see Jay Z - best new years ever - very excited for 2011!!
