For a guy who claimed he’s cool and shes the lead of spelling bee in public he’s helped her twice at parties, was the right type of human being who respected when she wanted to stop physically, did not tell anyone she lied about sex, didnt give a shit about a party and made sure she got home alright.

Also after their kiss he looked at peace, he finally did what he wanted.

Keep in mind the same night ben tried to kiss her twice and she moved away.

Paxton has a good heart and proven that, its not to say Ben doesnt - he gave her a safe place to sleep and got her friends to come talk. Another thing the show also made sure at the parties that ben was affected by devi getting injured or falling in the pool but not doing anything it was Paxton. Timings a bitch and ben got his timing right, but all the other times it was Paxton.

Paxton helps her grow and realise sometimes she is selfish. Like when she used him and lied about sex. He also should growth when he went to apologise after overreacting about his sister, then season 1 ending going to her place to hang out and not run from his feelings.
