📌obligatory disclaimer that not-doctors do
*I’m NOT a doctor. None of what I say is real medical advice*
This morning, I started off with this short >8 minute clip - I’ll never ever be ashamed to say that I’ve shed a tear or two (or many more if I’m being honest) listening to these speeches.
“Nothing changes if nothing changes.” - Courtney C. Stevens
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.” - Nelson Mandela

(Sorry if the link doesn’t work - If not, “search the title of the video)
I start my day, and sometimes end it, with one of these short motivational talks on mental strength, courage, self improvement, and so much more.
This app has helped me so much and made me realize the things I truly need to focus to make a better me - I highly recommend anyone and everyone who needs a pick me up or if you feel like you’re alone, please check this out and see for yourself
I’ve recommended it to family members who may be going through a rough time.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.

Improve your diet. Get enough sleep, but not TOO much! Drink more water. Exercise, even just a little bit. Look good, feel good. Feel good, do good. Do these small, simple steps and watch how much better you feel overall.
I, myself, have focused on these 3-4 specific things in the last few weeks, in addition to less and less social media for the last 3 months, and I couldn’t believe how much better I feel in such a short period of time.
Get all of the things like your diet, sleep patterns, workout plans, etc out of the way and your mental state only improves along with it.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
There’s no shame in apologizing for something you did or said. That’s a sign of strength and being able to admit a personal flaw. Don’t look at it as a sign of weakness. Getting something off your chest, even if you have to admit you caused the burden, is better than holding it in and letting it weigh on you. We can’t improve as individuals if we can’t admit our flaws and our mistakes. Admit those mistakes and work to improve on it.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
When things are going good, ride that wave and erase the “how long is this ‘high’ gonna last until I get the ‘low’?” What’s making things go good? Whatever it may be, start making those things an important part of your daily routine. Do this because you may have found the right recipe or antidote to the fascinating but chaotic world of being bipolar.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” - Oscar Wilde
Remember to smile. Remember to laugh. Those things are contagious.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Be grateful for the things you do have rather than dwelling on the things you don’t. You control your happiness - No matter what, don’t take for granted the positivity in your life.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
No matter how down you get, remember it doesn’t last forever. The low will, without warning, turn around and your mind will immediately turn to the positivity in your life. Even when you’re sad or depressed, try to smile and bring a positive memory or thought into the equation.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Your worst day could be followed up with one of your best. Don’t let the bad days linger like a black cloud over the good things you have going on.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Don’t dwell just on the bad days. Savor and enjoy all of the good ones as well. Fight the lows and enjoy the highs, it’s all a roller coaster that needs to be managed in an individual way. Don’t forget to smile and laugh as much as you frown or cry.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Relax - Breathe - Gather your thoughts - Be confident - Frustration is ok! - Focus on positivity
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
There are many distractions in life today. Too many to be honest. We’re overloaded with information at all times on all topics and it’s difficult to avoid at times. But if you realize you’re distracted by something that’s bringing you unnecessary stress/anxiety/anger/etc, do your best to stop doing that as soon as possible. Reading something that’s getting you a little amped up? Move on, it’s not important. Your health and state of mind is. Recognizing these things removes potential situations that could trigger a wild ride up or a slow ride down. Do things that make you happy, not the things that mess with your mental health.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Realizing things that bring you unnecessary stress or anger helps you avoid any potential triggers that could lead to wild ride up or a slow trip down. Feel like you’re starting to get a little stressed doing something? Stop. Change it up. You don’t need it.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
Triggers
Know what sets you off. Know what gets you super high. Know what gets you super low. Knowing, recognizing, & acknowledging these will assist you in attempting to stop a potential manic or depressive episode.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
If a cry out for help goes unanswered, it doesn’t mean help isn’t on the way. The person who didn’t answer just wasn’t meant to be the one who helped.
It’s ok to not be ok. You’re not alone.
