We’re the Bethune’s and we are so glad you’re here! We are nomads, living full time in our vintage bus. In August of 2019, As Jenn and Kyle stood in front of their freshly remodeled dreamhouse in Florida, unpacking their camper from a summer trip, Kyle looked at Jenn and said, “let’s sell it all, buy a vintage bus and go travel the country”. They had only discussed a full-time nomadic lifestyle in the past. Jenn thought he might be crazy. And with no crystal ball that Covid would soon arrive, the Bethunes were ready to hit the road in a 1983 vintage Silver Eagle bus that they affectionately named, Blue Betty. Due to the restrictions that a pandemic dole out in February 2020, the family parked Blue Betty on Kyle’s parents property, listed their house in Valrico and began a ‘practice’ run with full time bus life.

Oh Hail No! Prepping for the Totally Rad Vintage Fest in Albuquerque NM and Theodore is on a Roll..

But before we could even begin packing, Mother Nature had other plans. A surprise hail storm rolled through our New Mexico homestead, and Kyle woke up to a discovery that left him completely shocked. Once the skies cleared, it was time to channel our inner Tetris champions as we somehow managed to pack our Jeep Grand Cherokee to the brim with vintage clothing, thrifted treasures, and all the essentials needed for a vintage market weekend. With alarms ringing at 3:25 AM, Jenn, Kyle, and Molly piled into the Jeep and made the 2.5-hour drive from Mora, New Mexico to Albuquerque for the Totally Rad Vintage Fest. After a long day of setup, shopping, selling, and meeting some incredible people, we had an absolute blast being part of one of New Mexico’s biggest vintage shopping events. By the time we made the drive home, we were completely exhausted—but the adventure wasn’t over yet. The next morning, Theodore continued what can only be described as his legendary streak of questionable life choices. It was a simple Saturday around the bus until the dogs had other plans...

Kyle whips up an amazing dinner, and everything seems to be going according to plan… until our evening walk to the pasture overlook swing. With the sunset settling in and the dogs exploring nearby, Theodore suddenly spots a herd of cows in a neighboring pasture. Before anyone can react, he’s off like a rocket, leaving Kyle chasing after him and turning our peaceful walk into a full-blown adventure. Life on the road and at the homestead is never boring, and this week was a perfect reminder that sometimes the best memories come from the moments you never planned.
