he winces as she hit a sour note, a small hand wrapped around the guitar’s fingerboard. she’s undersure and she’s hesitating because of it. while normally he wouldn’t care, elias was TRYING – something the drifter wasn’t known for doing. his tag team partner was already turning him soft. with a sigh, he reaches forward and wraps his larger hand around hers, making sure she’s really pressing into the strings; then with a nod, he has her strum again. the simple chord echoes in the empty concrete hall and there’s the smallest upturn in his lips at her excitement. “ you can’t question yourself. you do that and the instrument knows…same with our match. no hesitations, got it? ”
she never did this before and usually whenever something like this happens she tends to tackle the problem with all her strength and will. but with learning how to play the guitar, that would help her get on the same page with elias, it wasn’t as easy as bayley thought. so now, having him actually help her with playing the music was quite nice, considering how most of the time he ditched her. fingers grasping the neck of the guitar - the one that she got right after learning who she would be teaming with - and pressing into the strings to make the sound be just like the one, that elias did but failing. goosebumps rose on her skin as a much bigger and rougher palm covers hers, showing the right way how to press the strings and bayley brings the guitar pick to them once again, finally getting it right. “thank you. i... i got it. i won’t let you down, promise. honestly, i always wanted to learn how to play a guitar but never got the chance to do so. maybe, you can help me some more with it?”, brown eyes looked up from the guitar’s body to the drifter’s face, her gaze hopeful and pleading for him to say “yes”.
