The brunette had fire. She obviously wasn’t falling easily to Teddy’s charm, or at least she wasn’t showing that she was, and he enjoyed her wit. This was the most fun he’d had in a while while on the job. Giving her a lopsided grin, he shrugged casually, pretending to think, “Not all the girls. Just ones who impress me. Taking on a man two times your weight definitely counts as impressive. What’re you some sorta secret karate kid or something?” He asked with a quirked brow. Teddy didn’t get intimidated often, all things considered, but he found himself wanting to meet this girl’s expectations. If he was even deserving of any at this point - and with her, he really couldn’t tell if he was. Rolling his eyes in a joking manor, Teddy snickered at her comment, “Yes, I’m a sociable person, so I’ve heard. C’mon, get your mind out of the gutter.” He teased, resting an elbow on the counter and then his chin on the palm of his hand, relaxing into the easy groove of their conversation. “Well shit - I probably just look like a douche now, huh? Thought I would come across as just as impressive, but you could probably show me up in your sleep, then. I’ll have to start visiting your side of town, I’m sure you’ll make the journey worth it.” A genuine smile spread across Teddy’s face at her compliment, allowing himself to bend over in a dramatic pseudo bow, pleased with her answer, “Trust me, I treasure these straws - I don’t hand them out to just anyone.” He stretched his hand across the bar, the same way she’d just had, this time waiting for her to accept it in her own, “It’s a pleasure, Laney. Name’s Teddy - and unfortunately that cherry’s gonna cost ya.”
lips curve as the male informs her that she impressed him, an instant ego booster forming from the words themselves. “secret karate kid? not exactly.” a lot of the moves she knew had been self-thought, a process of trial and error throughout her years of practice. while authority figures may deem her choosing of sport and occupation as illegal--- it didn’t stop the stubborn brunette from doing what she had come to love; whether it would end with cuffs around her wrist or not. “lets just say i probably have bigger balls than he had. plus, i like a little bit of a challenge and well--- he certainly seemed like just that.” shoulders raise only to fall moments later in a nonchalant shrug. his complimentary words rang sweetly to her eardrums, albeit, delaney keeps the same cool exterior. “it was actually pretty impressive--- ” probably the first real compliment she’d allowed him to have since their conversation initiated. “admittedly, i could work on my mixing--- i excel in your typical shot pouring and general drink making. maybe you’ll be the one to show me some tricks rather than the opposing way around.” the dramatic bow preformed by the male seemed to warranted the permanently plastered mischievous smirk to falter to something of genuine amusement; lips curling upward as hazel hues roll endearingly. “well, since they mean THAT much to you, i’ll ensure to treasure my straw with my life.” in her own dramatic form, a single finger comes up to press against her chest, marking an ‘x’ over her heart. the same slender hand reaching forward moments later to meet his. “teddy--- ” delaney finds herself repeating, dark eyes momentarily scanning over him; as though placing the name to the face and in this case, seemed rather suitable. “what if i can tie you a knot with the stem?” a challenge toward herself this time, cherry dangling from between her fingers.
