born to emir & deniz aksoy in bursa, turkey. belkis is the youngest of the two sisters. the aksoy parents were very loving and devoted but also low on funds. emir worked as a farm laborer and deniz worked as a stay at home mom to the girls and did odd jobs on the side. there isn't much to say about the family, because belkis doesn't remember anything about them except for her older sister esme. when the girls were young ( 2 & 4 ), there was a robbery at their house in the middle of the night. emir tried to protect the family from the robbers but the night ended up with the tragic end of the aksoy parents. leaving the two girls alone. until they weren't again.
being adopted to the states by the maddox family, belkis doesn't know anything other than them when it comes to family and early life. so much so that she has always believed her sister esme, that they aren't even adopted. even with the clear signs and being told so.
belkis fit into the family well from the start. their love for sports was a perfect match with the dark haired girl. she was first put into gymnastics as a child but didn't take to as well as she did when introduced to the ice. she was a natural out there and everything about figure skating would soon become her life.
{ teenager & scandal }
being a spoiled teenage girl would do the opposite to belkis that it would to most. it made her into a sweet girl, an overly trusting girl, and a determined girl. she started training harder than she ever had before and a dream started to come true for her. she was going to the olympics, this was the beginning for everything for her. or so she thought.
when belkis was 17, she competed for the first and the last time in the olympic games. she gained so much popularity and was beloved throughout america by the charm and sweetness she put into herself and routines with singles figure skating. belkis placed silver and she couldn't have been happier with her performance.
3 months later, everything changed again. she was pregnant. she lost most of her sponsorships and the world left her behind. there was no room for a teenage pregnant figure skater in the olympic world. this broke her heart.
{ adulthood - now }
after the scandal, belkis felt like she lost her beloved sport. but nothing could ever keep her down for too long. her love had shifted to something entirely new. her son. she started devoting her life to him and being the best mother she could be, the perfect mother. she bakes, she cooks, she crafts. something you can see and subscribe to now too with her newest career path of becoming a mom influencer while teaching private skate on the side. its safe to say that even though things changed majorly for the woman, shes happy with what she has now.
