[25] Wait a minute, Storage room=boxes = INVENTORY THAT SHIT. QUICK GET A BOX YANG IS PROBABLY FINE. AT LEAST FOR A COUPLE MORE MINUTES [25] WASTE NO TIME, GET YANG, GET A BOX FROM THE STORAGE ON YOUR WAY OUT, THEN GET THE FUCK OUT.
What kind of a fool do you take yourself for? Of course you already inventoried all the boxes you could find! A quick inventory check shows that.
Blake: 1x Gambol Shroud, 2x Beef Jerky, 1x Water Bottle, 1x Box, 1x Box
Emerald: 2x Pistols, 1x Box, 1x Box
Of course you also made Emerald carry some boxes with her too. Contrary to popular belief, boxes do not stack.
[25] This new Ruby girl is quite cute. Flirt with her.
She is cute but judging by the bags under her eyes and the slightly nervous way she scans the room every minute or so she doesn't look open to romantic advances right now.
Weiss seems to know her and you instruct them to stay close, it seems to put them both in a better state of mind.
[025]: Absently pet Emerald, and listen carefully for any noise behind the door. Try to see if there are any Monochrome, Ladybug, or White Rose shipping moments to be had. Lord knows we're gonna need some fluff to keep us from going completely insane from grief. Idly remember the last time Weiss fed Emerald or took her out for a walk, and then consider their reactions to the sword. Wasn't that interesting? Then, mentally prepare yourself. This place is Hell.
Although you don't exactly know what 'fluff' is you do take Weiss's hand when she offers it. More so steady both you and her then just for your own gain.
Weiss fed Emerald a day ago, but you don't really see this quest lasting more than another hour or two. After you save Yang, you are out of here.
That sword that Weiss is holding piqued your interest and remains an unsettling point of un-had conversation between two of your teammates. It's not your place to know the story behind it, but you and Emerald do share a 'look' over the thing.
0025: Ruby makes a suggestion, a team name. You all need motivation. Give an inspiring speech. For the duration of this mission, you are team BWRE (Beware), BREW is what you'll drink after the mission. You'll need a new name once Yang joins... but for now!
"We should have a team name you know." Ruby speaks up, breaking the uncomfortable silence that settled upon the group.
Emerald rolls her eyes but you try and smile encouragingly, "What do you have in mind?"
"Well, if we're naming it by Professor Ozpin's standards we should be Team BWRE. Y'know like, beware?" She chuckles awkwardly.
Weiss nods and then Emerald murmurs something about 'idiots being idiots' and you smack her shoulder. If it makes Ruby feel better you clear the name.
You all need something to raise morale anyways.
[25] Its time to take ass, and kick names [25] Remind everyone the main focus is Yang, if you can only save her, then so be it. However if you see anyone in good enough shape that can join you, rescue them if you can. [25] Get bloody going! While you have been dawdling around, Yang could have had 70 freaking wires planted into her.
You decide that the best plan of action was to just storm the door. It might be messy, but you do have the element of surprise. If there's anyone guarding the door they'll be caught totally off guard then you and Emerald will incapacitate them while Ruby and Weiss surround Yang.
Taking a deep breath you let Ruby do the honors of screaming 'FOR YANG' and then rush in through the big metal doors.
You are completely and totally prepared for whoever may attack you on the other side. But you aren't prepared for there to be just one person standing there. Standing over Yang.
"I...Ironwood?" Ruby stutters out but the man just smiles at her and fixes his impeccable collar.
Ironwood sounded familiar, Ruby said that name a lot during her explanation. Maybe he was the mastermind behind all of this? But Weiss and Ruby seemed to seriously doubt it. Until now of course.
"I heard you kids coming a mile away." He observes you, staring into your eyes for far too long, "Don't worry, I told the White Fang members to disperse. We truly are the only ones in here."
Your rigid posture does not let up. Ironwood obviously can't be trusted.
Yang was hooked up to one of those heart rate monitors, the beeping was off though. You didn't know those things had a mute button. Half of her head was covered by a strange metallic dome that led farther up into the ceiling. Wires ran from her legs to the dome.
Ironwood paced around the chair that Yang was lounging in, smiling nervously, "I know you have questions, please ask them. I'm the only person that can give you a true answer after all."
This guy was so off. It was hard to believe such a man was evil, but then again it was hard to believe this was even happening.
You could try to attack him, take Yang from whatever she's in. But then you risk hurting Yang from not having the proper knowledge.
Your team looks at you hesitantly, questions heavy on all their minds.
The command number is [26]
Super fast because I am out of time! Presenting team BWRE (Beware).
A response to this.
Wasn’t as bad as I thought… oh who am I kidding. I suck at composition. Le sigh~ oh well. That’s what practice is for. :P
Never expected my suggestion would have ended up like this, haha.
I LOVE TEAM BWRE
I LOVE TEAM BWRE
[24] Double check the room with Pyrrha in it, maybe someone/thing helpful is in there?
You cannot go back in there.
[24] check inventory [24] Inventory check!
You shakily check your inventory, you have nothing on you.
[24] locate weapon. You can't save Yang if you can't kick some ass. Maybe grab the rope so you can choke a bitch [24] locate weapon [24] Arm yourself and go save your sister! [24] Scan your surroundings and look for a weapon. You'll likely need to defend yourself. If you can, look for clues to Weiss' whereabouts. Try to find Yang as quickly as possible, then escape and NEVER RETURN.
Around you is a sterile, plain hallway. It's almost exactly like the room outside of your cell. Next to you is a door with the word 'storage' printed on it. Behind you is the room you just left. At the end of the hallway is a staircase leading to the second floor.
The floor where your sister is.
After seeing what happened to the others you feel a greater need to arm yourself than before. If there are any crazed doctors or Silent Hill esque nurses, you should be prepared.
Not much around you can be used for weaponry and unforetunately the rope you had was torn to shreds and probably won't be used to choke a bitch anytime soon.
Your attention is turned towards the Storage Room and you catiously open the door slowly, praying that no one is in there.
It was a room with one desk and a lot of boxes, there was also a small closet in the corner. You suppose you could search through each box but that would take a long time. You close the door behind you.
[24] Save Yang. Repeat that in your head, ad infinitum. Save Yang. Right now, you need a goal, something to focus on, so you don't drown in your own head. Save Yang. Even if you can't. You should try. [24] Worry about Yang [24] Feel the force of the situation impact you
Closing the door behind you had a strange effect. It was like it sucked the air from you and sealed all of your bad feelings on the inside.
Just a week ago you'd been starting your first day at Beacon, you were so happy, like some ignorant puppy clinging to your sister's shoelaces. Yang was the only person that made you feel comfortable and it's apparent now that without her you're just a mess that is also a murderer.
Full on crying now, you slide down against the door, feeling the cool wall on your back. You remember the days when you were young, Yang teaching you how to ride a bike...You enivitably falling down and scarring your arm.
You scratch at the scar but all you feel is the numbness of your new arm.
"...Ruby?" The closet door opened suddenly and a girl with long white hair tumbled out along with two others that you don't exactly recognize.
"Weiss!?" You jump to your feet, trying to dry your face with your tattered shirt.
"You idiot don't go towards her!" A girl with mint hair shouted but it was too late, Weiss was in your arms and you weren't letting her go anytime soon.
"Where have you been?" She mumbles into your chest. You're sure she was trying to come across as furious but it just wasn't working.
"...Here, I guess..."
She backs slightly away from you, still making contact with her arms around your stomach, "What happened to you Ruby?" This time her attention is focused on your arm; Or more likely, the metal bits.
"I'll tell you later, but we have to save Yang."
"Yang is here!?"
"Ahem. Would you mind introducing us?" The rude mint haired one from earlier cleared her throat.
Weiss lets go of you and walks towards the one with cat ears, "This is Blake, they've been very helpful to me."
Blake smiles and their cat ears twitch your direction. They seem nice enough and they're also really handsome which is always a good thing.
"Emerald, on the other hand, is my puppy who you will under no circumstance pet without my permission."
Emerald then slowly walks over to Blake and steps on their foot.
Wow, what a team that Weiss has forged for herself.
After they're all done fighting and bickering, you explain to them your situation...leaving out all the less appealing parts. When you get to Yang, Blake's face lights up.
"She wanted me to save her, I might be important." Blake didn't seem too sure of their words.
Even though you know that your sister couldn't have known or have talked to this person in the last couple of days, you don't let that stop you from saying yes. Stranger things have happened.
-Trade your team leader position over to Blake-
Ruby seems like she needs a break so you are now Blake Belladonna, team leader for the duration of the quest.
You start where Ruby left off, completely ignoring the empty boxes but directing your team to open and search for lethal contents.
Your findings are: 2x Yang's gauntlets, 1x Crescent Rose, and 1x shitty sword
Weiss and Ruby get really quiet while looking at the spoils. Ruby is of course ecstatic over finding her weapon, but calms down when she holds the sword.
Weiss takes the sword and gives Emerald her guns back, Ruby pockets the gauntlets and equips the scythe.
"Are you sure we can trust her?" You regard Emerald, who's now lovingly caressing her pistols, warily.
"I'm sure."
Well, you trust Weiss and if she trusts Emerald then you'll be fine. Probably.
You focus your faunas hearing to survey the outside, after finding it's clear you guide your team towards the steps and into a similar hallway. The only difference is at the end of the hall are two big metal doors, done up with rust.
Emerald gulps but assures the team, "This looks like the place."
Is there anything you want to do before you go in?
The commanding number is [25]
WHITE ROSE YOU SAY?!
YES I DID SAY
aww yisss time for some white freaking rose
[23] fall asleep and ask someone in your dreams for advice.
You would do that if you were tired, or stupid. But sadly you are neither. Going to sleep in a captive situation isn't a good idea, especially if the captor could be in here.
[23] USE EPIC ROBO ARM POWERS TO RIP THE ROPE LIKE A RAG!
Focusing your mega man like strength you pull at your ropes. It's almost like you can feel them separating strand by strand...But you can't really feel that because it's not happening. The robot arm you have isn't really super powered at all.
[23] Try to feel around you, or at least try to get untied. [23] Your hands are not too tightly bound so let's get out of them. Did Penny make it easy for you to get out of? Unlikely if she's following orders, but you could always hope... If you can remove them, let's try and get the blindfold off as well.
Your hands don't come as free as easily as you want them too. The ropes are loose but they're more like thinly draped cloth wrapped in an impossible knot.
If only you had something sharp...
[23] kick ropes
Try as you might, your legs do not reach far enough to kick the ropes off. Good suggestion though.
[23] feel around a bit, FIND A BOX.
You slowly move your feet around in the general area in front of you, using them like a blind person would a cane. But you find nothing even vaguely box-like.
[23] "What would Yang do?"
Yang would get angry. She'd get really angry then throw a fit. Usually that caused something to happen.
But unfortunately you're not like your sister, you don't get stronger when you are angry nor do you set things on fire. Still, it's worth a try...
[23] cuss like you've never cussed before. [23] flip off someone/thing [23] Flip something off.
Even though you know you shouldn't, and even though you really don't want to, you let out a string of cuss words and flail your little tied up arms about.
"...Ruby?"
You halt all of your rage. You know that voice.
"Pyrrha?"
"Are you hurt Ruby!?"
"No...Are you?"
Pyrrha sounds like she's a couple of feet away from you, and then infront of you?
"...Yes. But you must get out of here it isn't safe for you!" The pleading in her voice was the most heartbreaking thing you've heard since Weiss was dragged away from you, screaming your name.
"I can't, I'm blindfolded and my hands are tied. I think I can cut the ropes if I find something sharp enough."
She pauses for a second, then you hear shuffling, as if she was trying to turn around to look at you. Is she in bed?
"The edge of your bed should be good enough. You are right in front of it, just move to the left or so." It's like she's struggling to look at you.
"Okay..." You move yourself slowly across the edge of the bed until your leg comes in contact with something sharp and metal.
[23] drag ropes across a sharp edge in hopes of loosening or cutting them. one of the corners of the bed maybe?
Lowering yourself down, you manage to saw away at the ropes until your hands were loose. The sighs of relief from both you and Pyrrha filled the room.
You hastily try to pull of the blindfold but Pyrrha stops you, "Wait. Ruby. Before you take the blindfold off. I need you to be...Prepared for what you might see."
That can't be good, that never means anything good.
Without answering you take the blindfold off, letting it fall from your hands.
"W...What?"
Pyrrha doesn't answer you, doesn't care to explain why all of your fellow classmates, your fellow hunters, are packed into this room on beds like sardines.
Needles go into their arms, connecting them to an IV bag full of...blue raspberry looking stuff. It's being pumped into them, probably keeping them from waking up.
Slowly you walk up and down the rows of hospital beds, recognizing features of your friends. Even if they're covered in gauze from head to toe one or two things stick out for you. Like Velvet's ears which they couldn't completely cover up, or Jaune's blue eyes which are open but unmoving.
You wave your hand in front of Jaune's face, trying to get him to respond.
"Don't. He's too far gone for that...I tried."
Your attention is brought back to Pyrrha and you rush towards her bed. She was infront of you but it's clear now that she was struggling to see you, as she seems painfully confined to the bed. Her arms are tied down, so are her legs. A sign hangs above her bed post that says 'do not let free under any circumstances'.
"Pyrrha? Are you alright what...What happened here?"
"The White Fang and Ironwood...They were the ones kidnapping the students Ruby." She looks down, as if she's still in disbelief over this truth, "They take them and they drill holes into their heads, horrible, large, holes that get wires fed into them..."
Your hand goes up to touch the band-aids on your head. You're afraid to take them off.
"I don't know how they do it Ruby, but they harness the aura. They just take it and make you able to project it, use it to create entire worlds out of nothing...It hurts."
She takes a minute to cough, breathing hard after that, "They knock you out and make you unable to move or even think freely. They have you in that infernal contraption until they're done with you."
"What happens when they're done with you?"
"...They try to patch you up and then they put you here...if you're lucky. The rest of Team CFVY, even some exchange students from Atlas. They weren't..."
You don't have to ask what happened to them, Pyrrha's grimace explains enough.
"The bigger your aura is the more of a target you are...Ruby. I saw your sister. She was here in one of these beds. No drill holes yet. But they took her."
"Yang is...Oh dust."
"You can't save her Ruby. Just like you can't save us." Her gaze sweeps the room once more, "They'll never be the same. They might aswell be dead."
"What about you?" You can barely talk now. Your voice is shaking.
"I'm here to stay. They hate me. They want me to break so they can use me again." Pyrrha grits her teeth, "I know you're going to try to save Yang. But please, don't save me. Even if you could I wouldn't be able to forget."
"...I don't..."
Pyrrha motions towards her pillow with her eyes and your heart does a sickening drop.
"Please Ruby. If you're saving your sister she'll be on the next floor up. Leave me though. Please just...Do this for me."
"I can't...I..."
She looks at you with such sincerity it almost drowns you.
You pull the pillow out from underneath her head. You wish you were drowning.
"I'm sorry Ruby."
With one firm thrust you cover Pyrrha's face and push, you push hard to ensure no air escapes. Hard enough to feel her mouth open in horror and long enough to watch her body writhe and twitch.
You release your grip and relax your muscles. The pillow still lay there, like Pyrrha still lay there.
You don't feel good, even if it was the right thing to do.
There is nothing else to get in this room. You don't want to be in here another minute. It's...well you know.
Finding the door thankfully unlocked, you head out into the hallway to find your sister.
The command number is [24]
You forgot to change Weiss' physical state! didn't emerald take the handcuffs off of her?
Thank you for reminding me! I fixed it, along with some other things.
In response to this.
Tried a slightly different style. Don’t know how it turned out…
Failed on dumb and dweebs… but at least there’s a box and you can’t get more chillin’ than that.
