hello! omg can i request for a Pugsley x female reader where during the ball from season 2 he sort of invites her to a dancee and id like to think her family is great rivals with the addams who focuses more on heritage or lineage (maybe who acts royal and all its up to you!) Thankyou so muchhhh
The invitation came sealed in black wax.
Your mother didn’t even need to say anything when you opened it,the slight change of her posture and the way she set her teacup down was already enough for you to notice.
“The Addams family are hosting,” she finally said “We will attend.” Of course you would.Declining would be a sign of weakness. After all your family had been at a so called war with the Addams for a while.
Which is how you ended up at the Rave’N,standing under pulsing lights that felt inappropriate for something your family had treated as a way to show off. This wasn’t a formal ball,at least not one that you were used to,no it was chaotic to you.Students laughing, dancing without permission, the entire room glowing in colours that made it impossible for you to stay composed.Somewhere in the crowd you saw Wednesday Addams, she stood like a dark statue, obviously thinking or planning something but you didn’t know what it was quite yet.
“You look like you’re thinking about something important.” A cocky yet kind voice said, you didn’t need to turn around to see the person because you already knew who it was.
Pugsley Addams stood behind you, hair slightly messy, looks like he took his jester hat off, huh…he looks cute. He shifted his weight awkwardly. “I had something cooler to say,” he admitted. “But I forgot it.” Despite your resistance your lips twitched. ”That’s sad, tragic really.”
“Yeah, it really is,” he nodded seriously, then gestured vaguely toward the dance floor. “So I’m just gonna skip to the hard part,do you want to dance? No pressure. I mean well some pressure. Not weird pressure. Just, you know, normal pressure.”
You stared at his face, your expression softening.Wow he was really cute,He had big eye that seemed tired. They shined with hope. Was this the Addams your family had warned you about?Huh.
“…You’re terrible at this,” you said sighing.
“I know,” he said but paused for a second “But you didn’t say no yet so…?”
The music slowed, the crowd shifting, and before your better judgment could fully intervene.. “…One dance” you said.
Pugsleys whole face lit up,he tried and failed miserably trying to hide it.
He took your hand, hesitating just slightly before guiding you onto the floor. His movements weren’t polished,he almost missed the first step, corrected himself with a quiet “okay, wait, I got it”, but somehow it made everything feel less staged. Less like a performance.
“You’re over complicating it.” you murmured.
“I know,my parents are looking!” he said urgently.
You let out a quiet laugh before you could stop yourself, the sound surprising even you. His shoulders relaxed a little at that, like your reaction grounded him, and the next step came easier, then the next. It still wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t feel like it had to be.
“You aren’t as mean as i thought you were.” he said genuinely.
“That sounded like an insult.” you said between steps.
“No! it’s good. I think. I mean, yeah, it’s good,” he said quickly, then winced. “I’m not helping my case, am I?”
He smiled, small, but real and something in your chest shifted in a way you didn’t want to examine too closely.
The music slowed toward its end, the crowd moving around you again, but the moment lingered just a second longer than it should have. You stepped back first, instinct kicking in, rebuilding your composure piece by piece.
“This doesn’t change anything,” you said, softer 𝗇𝗈𝗐"
“Yeah,” he nodded, like he expected that. “I know.”
Instead, he lingered, just slightly awkward, just slightly unsure, before rubbing the back of his neck again. “I’m, uh… really glad you said yes.”
That caught you off guard.
“…It wasn’t terrible,” you admitted.
“That’s,honestly, I’ll take that.”
For a second, neither of you moved.
You leaned in closely and pecked his cheek.Your lipstick slightly staining his skin.
Then before any of you could react the music picked up again, louder, faster, the moment slipping back into the chaos of the Rave’N. You turned first, slipping back toward the edge of the crowd, but not as quickly as before.
You could still feel his presence nearby.
And somehow, that made everything feel a little more complicated than it was supposed to be.
