¹　 RULES

○ This blog is extremely private and selective. I rarely follow blogs first. Due to my sporadic activity/limited free time, I tend to prioritize friends but am always open to new writing partners! My only request is: if you're interested in writing, be ready + prepared to plot! ○ For my portrayal of Yelena, I'll admit: I cherry pick from canon. There are certain elements I love of Yelena's story and there are certain aspects I despise. I consider this blog primarily headcanon based with canon adjacency when I deem fit. [This is why I recommend being ready to plot.] I also write Yelena as an ace lesbian. Die mad about it. ○ Not duplicate friendly. This is nothing against other Yelena writers and honestly, the farthest thing from it. I simply have never written Yelena before and would rather not have outside sources influencing my portrayal. [Or suddenly making me feel insecure.] This could change at a later date! ○ Formatting is minimal and clean. I wanted a different look/vibe for this blog, so this is my attempt at that. Please be nice and don't hate me for not using lowercase letters. ○ This blog will feature extremely triggering material, such as violence, war, murder, body horror, mentions of grooming, etcetera. Anything visual will always be tagged appropriately, but I likely will not tag threads/writing without a request. Please keep this mind when deciding to follow or not. ○ While I am not canon compliant with the MCU and will always write Yelena's 616 counterpart, I am not against interacting with MCU based blogs! ○ Mun is Tegan: 22, lesbian, they prns. my default verse for yelena takes place about thirty-so years post her black widow/red room era. she's back in new york after her tenure in cuba and by now, is a successful millionaire for herself. her lingerie business is still thriving and active, but yelena, herself, is back in the spy game. purely transactional stuff, though. she serves no master and is her own person lmao. this also puts her age range around 40-50 give or take? so... do what y'all want w that <3

𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚈'𝙳 𝙼𝙴𝚃 𝙸𝙽 𝙰 𝙳𝙸𝙵𝙵𝙴𝚁𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝙻𝙸𝙵𝙴. One full of bloodshed and a paranoia that seeped through her flesh. When Yelena had considered the frigid Russian air a comfort and wore the mantle of the Black Widow. [Never with a sense of pride, but she at least wore it.] The only title she carries now is her own name: Yelena, along with a New York City address in the borough of Manhattan. And she couldn't be happier. [A blatant lie, but it helps her sleep easier at night.] When they meet again, the tides are switched: her the one with a sense of awareness, him the one seemingly confused. Her visit to Hells Kitchen was meant to be brief: light reconnaissance for an upcoming operation. But, it also wasn't every day you found the man without fear with his back flush against the city's pavement.

❝ You don't look well. ❞ A simple statement, one that could be confirmed by a glance in a mirror. Yelena remains hovering over the currently-grounded Daredevil. Though, she offers no helping hand to help him collect his bearings. Instead, she raises an eyebrow and keeps her gaze planted. « Where is Natalia? » Her native language and accent swirl in the air, synonymous to a lit-cigarette in the stygian alleyways of Paris. She's not a threat to him; not right now on the streets of Hell Kitchen. [So long as the Devil answers her questions without a hidden ruse of his own.]

❝ I thought you two were a package deal? ❞ They once had been; she'd experienced it at her own expense.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙽𝙸𝙶𝙷𝚃 𝙸𝚂 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝙽𝙶. Cars and people scurrying along the streets like rats in New York. She misses home. New York City is home. Russia hasn't been her home in over thirty years— it's a life left behind, a distant memory for a distant life Yelena likes to believe. (Attempts to believe in a blatant fantasy. Dreams can still haunt people, and they surely haunt her.) In the streets of Japan, she's an outlier— easily spotted among the masses. Sticking out like a sore thumb, Yelena makes her way into a nearby alleyway. Dark, secluded, away from any straying eyes who may become potential witnesses to her escapades.

Her mission is to infiltrate a nearby warehouse and obtain a set of blueprints. An in and out, easy operation as long as she stuck to the shadows. If she played her cards right— Yelena takes a quick glance at the time on her Apple Watch for good measure— she could be boarding a jet back to the States by midnight. (Blueprints to what? Natasha wouldn't say— not that Yelena minded. It had been a purely transactional meeting, just the way Yelena preferred things nowadays. She was getting too old for the games. And far too impatient.)

One step is taken, a silhouette emerges from the shadows. Eyebrows furrowing, Yelena takes a step back— eyes quickly surveying the person. Masculine figure, cladded in head-to-toe in black, the suit... It dawns on her who this is: 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐍𝐎𝐈𝐑. The reputation precedes him evidently. Her head tilts immediately to the side, eyes widening the ever slightest. Now, this was interesting. Entirely unexpected, too. ❝ I can assume you've been tailing me for awhile. You're good. ❞ What else can Yelena assume by a glance at things? This is not meant to be a good visit. Something to do with the blueprints, perhaps? That's her best assumption; her only assumption, really.

A Glock 43 is concealed by the loose black jacket she's wearing, but he's smart. Smart enough to know she's on her way somewhere: most likely an op and is armed. If he's going to strike— he'll do it quick too. He's followed her long enough undetected and waited for his moment to strike. A predator after their prey. Her eyes narrow, right hand inching its way up her side nearing her jacket. ❝ Are you here for the blueprints or me? ❞ A better question to ask would've been: are you here for the blueprints or to kill me?
