An eventful few months
You might notice I've been silent these past few months. I had better things to do. But it's time for some reflection and a little self-congratulations.
Firstly, my landlord tried to press me for more money as I had a special someone staying over on a regular basis. I was already paying more than I should have, so I came down on him hard and sent him running.
He's not the sort of man to confront people head on though, so when I heard he was looking for an excuse to evict me, I was unsurprised. I am not the sort of person to take that laying down though, so I reported him to every agency available, the council, even the parliament.
I've since moved, and upon leaving he took his stupidity to its logical conclusion, he illegally withheld my bond. I had a good laugh at that and doubled my efforts. He is now under investigation from the tax office, tenants authority, police, council and the health and safety board. He has also lost the rights to advertise on his usual haunts due to a few anonymous complaints.
The part that really puts a spring in my step is that the council is taking his licence and the tenants authority have stated that his offences so far are too serious for a fine and will be forced to go to prosecution instead. A potential jail sentence.
But that was simply a bit of fun. My industry is marketing, though I am not actively working in that field. I approached my current employer with a proposal that would see his sales triple in the next 3 months, for a commission. He refused as I am not employed as a sales rep, and they don't allow anyone but sales reps to earn commission.
I laughed and have since used their own ridiculous profit margin against them, by buying the components off them, assembling them, and selling them directly to the consumer taking the assembly price as my own commission (around 100% markup from component price). The best part? Assembly is a 5 minute task, which he pays me for regardless of whether or not he is making that profit.
In essence, I market the product under my own newly formed company name, undercutting them on all of their advertising mediums, I place the orders with their company, deliver it on their time (which the customer happily pays for aswell) and assemble the items, taking half the cash from the sale. I spend nothing, and earn more on each sale than the company does.
They are so happy with the influx of new sales that I have provided that they are now training me to deal with their suppliers aswell. Another nail in their coffin when I can source the components directly.
I'll let them be our supplier for a time though, it wouldn't be very nice to drive them out of business while still working for them... They are family after all.
