Ben looked up at the greyface, startled by their sudden question. "Woah, I didn't see you there. I don't know, I guess just a nice personality probably. Really, I'd be happy with anyone who could put up with me." He felt horrible for the amount of pity he was trying to elicit with that comment, but he couldn't help it. He needed someone's approval, even if it was through forced and fake pity that he took as means to boost his esteem.

He spread his arms out as wide as he could, giggling.

"Yeah, of course you can help." Doug smiled. "You know Ben, I don't know what I'd do without you."

Ben was quiet as he knelt down next to Doug, deciding to just begin untangling some extra rope that he assumed Doug would be using soon. "What do you mean? I don't do anything around here."
