          Another August 3rd, another day where he was left CONFUSED, wishing he understood why he felt like the date was so IMPORTANT. “Fr- Fr… Fr…” He STUTTERS for the child’s attention, and once he got it, he’d point to the DATE, hoping they could E X P L A I N.

        it didn’t take long for the core to get their attention, &&.  amber  eyes  were  directed  to      the calendar before switching to look at fact’s confused expression.  their own face takes      on a look of quiet pondering as they try to figure out what exactly he wanted  them  to  do.      nothing really special happened today that they knew of -  no  national  holidays  or funny      events, but maybe it was important to him specifically.

Sans, being the couch potato he was well known for, didn’t seem to have any objections to the kiddo’s request. A little bit of fresh air would do them both good and even though the lazy sack of bones didn’t want to admit it, he was beginning to get a small case of cabin fever.

“*sounds good to me. you’re the boss.” Lugging himself up from the couch he ruffled Frisk’s hair affectionately. While they were out they could nab a few cones of nice cream to help beat the heat outside.

        a small giggle is heard as sans ruffles their hair before they duckout  of  reach,  &&.       quickly run over to the shoe rack to find their sandals &&. put them on.  it  wasn’t long      before the child is back standing besides sans, body only bouncing slightly from their      excitement.

        ❛ w-we can t-take turns playing on the swings &&. see who can jump off the              furthest! ❜

        it’s something they learned from the other children at school - it’s slightly dangerous,      but it’s also their favourite activity. plus, it’s easy to turn it into a competition!    though,      frisk wasn’t sure what to put up for stakes - chores, most likely.

Optics watch as the human child’s hands move as if they are TRYING to say som- ething. An expression that shows pure C- ONFUSION is written across the cores f- ace before there is a quiet GROAN, as if a sound of GIVING UP, when that wasn’t the CASE. 

            “Did.. Did I get it WRONG? I thought humans could              T A L K, but I haven’t seem to meet any that can.”

A shake of his head to DISMISS the thou- ght as he moves to shake his hand, an aw- kward attempt to say NO with his hands.

             “Sorry, mate, can’t UNDERSTAND the— the HAND               THINGS. I’m not much of a— a core that talks in H-               ANDS.”

        alright, so he can’t understand asl; mildly inconvenient, but not horribly so.       they shake their head lightly, &&. point at their throat,  as  if  to  say  OTHER      humans did speak, THEY just don’t like to talk around strangers.  a  hum  of       thought could be heard as the child tries to think of a  solution,  &&.  a  small       ‘ ah! ’ is let out when they remember something. 

        frisk pulls their cell phone out, &&. opens DIMENSIONAL BOX A to place      the notepad &&. pen in their inventory. hopefully he could read their childish      handwriting.
