“Oh that?” Marcus gestured upwards to where dripping water was coming from the ceiling. “They told me they were going to get that leak fixed sometime this week. Still waiting,” he added. “Like I get it, it takes time– but I almost had a student slip in class on the water the other day. Do you think I should just take training outside? Especially with the weather improving lately.”

Benji watched as the water dripped rhythmically from the ceiling, “It’s pretty overcast and if it rains you’re going to have even more soggy students on your hands.” Benji commented, looking to the drip and then back to the other, “I could possibly help- I mean it’d just be a temporary fix and I’m not sure how long it’ll last but it should stop the dripping.”

“And you think I’m sneaking out for some alone time, do you?” Lottie posed, “I can’t tell you how problematic that is. You see a girl walking alone at night and your first thought is that they’re off to a hook up. We’re more than just an object you can molest against a tree,” she fired back. “Despite that wonderful argument, I’m not telling you where I’m going. It’s somewhere that doesn’t concern you in any way shape or form. And I’m not stupid enough to get murdered before you bring up that point again.”

“Woah! Wait, I never said that’s what I thought you were doing.” Benji commented holding up his hands, feeling a lot like he was under attack right now and even though he had a weapon in his hand, he felt vulnerable to the others approach. “I just said that’s what happens with people here, I see it happen when I’m out here doing this. It was just me telling you my observations and if the smiles on their faces have anything to go by when they walk back- pretty sure it’s consensual.” He tried to explain, though it almost felt like he was digging himself a hole, to such a point where he had to look to his feet to ensure he hadn’t started burrowing. “I don’t think anyone intends to get murdered, I’m pretty sure plenty of smart people get murdered and it has nothing to do with their intelligence.”

“Now you’re just giving me excuses,” Mags teased with a shake of her head. “You’d really prefer to have restricted movement with bulky clothes than have to apply sunscreen?” The girl knew what she preferred, but then again Maggie was rarely seen inside. “I’m weird, but I’m not that weird. Though I do kind of want to try it, just to see what it’s like, you know? Just once. And none of that weird meat stuff. Maybe a cat biscuit.” She did want to know she was giving Cat quality food, after all. “Cat is a cat,” she said, as if that had cleared up everything the other had asked.

"Or maybe you’re just calling them excuses because you’re dying to come and drool over some hot bods.” Benji teased the other with a wry smile, “You do know that our uniform is to prevent being restricted right? Something about aerodynamics or-... something.” He said scrunching up his nose slightly because he didn’t really know the science behind it, he just wore the stuff and didn’t complain. “Yeah you were right when you said you were weird, next time I see a cat biscuit lying around I’ll come and bring it to you to try.” He teased before nodding slowly, “Right. Aren’t pets prohibited on property unless they’re for assistance?”

Halliwell had been a little shocked at there being anyone else around which was why she’d immediately tried to take the attention off herself. “Are you supposed to be practising at this time of the night?” She found herself asking regardless before giving a bit of a sigh and relenting. “I was just making the most of the clear sky.”

"I mean given the time of night, I’m pretty sure sleeping is what I’m supposed to be doing.” Benji commented, trying move from the fact that him being out at this time of night, with limited sight and a weapon was probably the best idea he had. But it sort of became a tradition and he liked to think his eyes had been enhancing to the darkness around him. “Sounds more suspicious then my activities, only because I’m not sure I totally believe that you’re out here to look at the sky.”

“They really can be quite the bastards, you’re right,” Thea said with a little chuckle. She wasn’t sure why she felt nervous around the other, probably scared of saying something with no filter like she usually did and then never being able to find out what this lack of chaos was. “That does make me feel better, actually,” she shrugged. “But yeah, aren’t you able to like bore through stone or something? Tripping on a rock with that power is really quite exceptional,” the girl teased. “Pummelled? It didn’t look like that from where I was standing. You looked like you were holding your own,” she said truthfully. “If you want I can. I’ll also slip in my last name as they’ll know I’m being serious. My dad is kind of a big thing in the specialist world so I know my stuff even if I look weak and trip on rocks.”

“I’m glad my clumsiness can come in handy for something good then, I did have a moment where I thought I was going to have to use it for un-pure purposes but I guess you saved me from going over to the dark side.” Benji joked to the other before raising an eyebrow at her, “I guess I tend to be more gifted when it comes to plants.” He commented, bending down to snap a stem of a flower that had yet to bloom, waving a hand over it and watching as the flower appeared. “Much more my speed.” He added, holding out the small flower to the other. “Maybe I was doing better then I thought then. Nice to know that me internally screaming that I want it to end so I can go take a nap isn’t visible through my actions.” He chuckled, “Your dad? Who’s your dad?”

Zac didn’t know how to tell the other that the idea of looking at everyone and being more hyperaware of people in the hallways was absolutely terrifying, so instead he nodded and replies with, “Yeah, that would probably help.”

“More then probably, it’ll definitely help.” Benji told the other with a small laugh, “I mean unless you’re wanting to become advanced in avoiding people just by watching their footwork, which seems a little unpredictable if you ask me. Just- trying to save you on some foreseeable concussions that you could cause yourself down the line.”

“I see,” Dante nodded when the other explained himself a little more. “As long as you return the bo staff to the armory I’m sure nobody will mind. I’m not going to snitch on you if that comforts you at all,” he added with a light shrug, knowing that usually the school’s weapons were meant for lessons or emergencies. “Ah? I mean I can spare some time for some sparring if you’d really like,” Dante added after Ben’s words. “Thank you, I appreciate that. I promise I’m not responsible for any suspicious activity. At least not tonight,” he added playfully.

"Not going to lie to you, me being snitched on wasn’t the first line of thought that came into my head when you caught me.” Benji explained to the other, “But I’ll return things, always do and hey, even if you told our instructors, maybe they’d be happy to know I’m getting in some extra practice. Even if it is at somewhat unsociable hours.” Because he really could use all the help he could get, he didn’t have the grace as the others did, he really needed to polish up on his skills and hopefully have some improvement for the next time that he saw his father. “I was about to say, I don’t think you’re never not responsible for suspicious activity. You look like the type who would stand back and smirk whilst chaos unfolded in front of you.”

“Why do you care where I’m going or what I’m doing?” Lottie questioned the other, tilting her head. “I have no legitimate reason to tell you given I have only met you once and have no idea if you’re a creep or not. Which, seeing as you’re asking a young girl where she’s going at night, you probably are.”

“It’s not very often that you come across people at this time of night, unless they’re sneaking out into the woods for some ‘alone’ time. Though given someone else walks by another ten minutes later, I doubt it’s ‘alone’ time.” Benji told the other, “Also you did scare me and I feel like I’m entitled to know what you’re up to given you made me give out a rather high pitched squeal.” Benji snorted, “If anything me asking where you’re going is a safety thing, then if I hear trouble or screaming, or if there’s a fire, I know you’re still out there. I don’t really want to be a part of a murder inquisition giving I’d have been the last person who saw you alive.”

“Ooo, hunting vampires would be really interesting,” Finn said. “Who says you couldn’t be? I mean, we’re real and fairy’s are just fairytales to humans on Earth.” She then let out a small chuckle, “fairytales.”

“I mean, pretty sure if they existed we’d know about them by now. That and they do seem to go against all the laws of nature, what with the whole being undead thing. At least we’re more plausible to humans than them.” He explained, realizing that it may be time to quit his middle of he night training and go to bed if this is where his conversation had taken him.

“You keep your shirts on? What a shame,” Maggie said jokingly with a frown. “I feel like if I say yes you’re going to have more questions and then I won’t be able to answer them since I’ve never tasted cat food before,” she replied. “So no, not for me. For Cat.”

“Yeah, we tried the whole shirtless thing for a few months. Turns out you just end up with more injuries due to more skin exposure, plus if it’s a sunny day you’ve got the break mid battle to apply sunscreen- it’s a whole thing.” He continued the bit, an easy smile on his face as he spoke to the other. “Oh I totally would have had more questions if you admitted to snacking on cat food.” Benji pointed out to the other, “For Cat-... and Cat is?”

James is sitting on a bench in town near the lake, he was reading but he was yet again distracted by the picture of his family he uses as a bookmark. He jumped when the other spoke. “Sorry, what did you say? I was a bit distracted.”

“I said you might want to tuck your feet in, that old lady with the shopping bags just tripped over one of them and she’s been giving you the dirtiest looks for the last ten minutes.” Benji pointed out, subtly gesturing to the lady in question. “You want to hope she’s not trying to hex you or something. Old lady hexes are the worst.”

Silas shrugged. “Sorry, I uh, forget that I made that comment,” he replied. “I just wanted to know if you want to go on a run, I have to get some things off my mind.”

Benji couldn’t help but narrow his eyes at the other, “You wanted to know if I wanted to go for a run at three in the morning? In the pitch black?” Benji asked the other, crossing his arms over his chest. “Unless you’ve got some sort of light fairy, I think I’m going to have to pass, don’t really feel like falling on my ass and  being left for dead in the trees somewhere.”

Thea let her eyes wander up to the guys face, and damn. While she wasn’t sure what she was expecting the person who gave her this feeling of nothingness to look like, she sure didn’t expect this. Thea realised she’d been quiet and staring at him for slightly too long than was probably acceptable so she cleared her throat. “I’m okay, thanks. Just apparently inept at recognising rocks on the ground,” she chuckled awkwardly, looking down at her knees that were now very sore but luckily no blood had been drawn anywhere. “Sorry for interrupting your training. You looked quite good up there–” she said and immediately her eyes widened as she realised what she had. Having no filter was very much a downfall at this particular time. “What I mean– you look like you know your stuff. Combat and, you know, things.”

At the others silence Benji continued to stare at her, wondering if he should be leading her in the was of the med ward to get her checked out and ensure she didn’t have a concussion, but when she started to speak he let out a small breath of relief he hadn’t even been aware he’d been holding. “Well you never know, they might have moved on heir own accord at the last minute. Rocks can be quite the bastards at times.” He joked with the other, hoping to make her feel a little bit better after her fall. “If it makes you feel any better, I’ve fallen over rocks too, and as an earth fairy and a specialist, I’m sure I’m supposed to one; have more grace then that and two; have some sort of magical connection with them.” When the other rambled on about interrupting his training he couldn’t help but chuckle softly, “It’s not a big deal, if anything you’re giving me a moment to catch my breath before I go back to being pummeled.” At the mention of looking like he knew his stuff he couldn’t help but think that at least one person thought so. “I guess given that it’s what I’m supposed to be good at, it’s a good job that someone thinks I’m doing a good job. Could you maybe pass those compliments onto my trainer, might give me a better grade or something.”

“Don’t tell me this is the best that you can do,” Caden barked, looking clearly not impressed with the other. “We have been over this technique multiple times and if that’s what you’re giving me after all this time then I should just fail you now and save both of us time.”

Benji felt like he was going to throw up, with the sun beating down on him and not having enough water before training, he could feel his stomach churning as he rested his hands on his knees as he tried to regain his composure, “What if it was, would you go easier on me?” He couldn’t help but ask through labored breaths. “Woah, woah, I didn’t know this was a test. Surely you should state that this is a test before actually putting me to work, right?”

the feeling of boredom was extremely dangerous for someone like lilith. along with boredom, usually came plans to cure it, but her plans were nothing of the innocent sort, unfortunately. she noticed someone sitting outside and approached them energetically. “hey, loner!” she greeted with a neutral smile. “i had a feeling you’d be here. i’ve come to bother you.”

“Erm-... hi.” Benji replied, covering his mouth to hide his chewing from where he had been eating an apple, minding his own business and reading his book. “To bother me? Why?” He couldn’t help but ask, surely there were better, more fun people to bother than him. “I mean, I’m not exactly doing anything exciting. Pretty sure there is some kids having a elemental battle out in the quad that’d be more interesting then watching me eat fruit and read Rick Riordan.”

“I don’t know what you specialists do,” Maggie pointed out. “For all I know you could be hunting vampires or witches or werewolves.” She was trying to avoid saying what her reason was for being outside at this time of night, but she knew she’d get caught eventually. “I may or may not have been smuggling cat food in. But you can’t tell anyone.”

“Oh my.” He smirked when the other rattled off a list of mythical beings, “But yeah, that’s totally what we do, we’re not gearing up to go into a fight against whatever threats are looming for the realms. We’re actually just preparing for a big supernatural showdown, think Twilight Breaking Dawn but we keep our shirts on.” Benji blinked several times at the other, trying to decide if he had heard her right, “Cat food? A particularly favorite snack of yours, or?”

“I figured you were practicing, but so late at night? You can barely seen a thing. Not to mention you’re on your own– shouldn’t you be practicing with someone else?,” Dante pointed out. “I’m out on a stroll. I have a hard time going to sleep so walks like these at night help me clear my head, if you must know.”

“I can see plenty- well, enough.” He commented, squinting at the others figure as he spoke. “Not really looking to spar in the dead of night, just practicing movement and footing, this doesn’t really come as naturally to me as it does to some of you.” He explained to the other, not that it was any secret. He would rather be in the greenhouses rather then on the front line, but it’s not like he could chose that path for himself. “Though if you’re offering, maybe I’d have the upper hand given that sight is a little bit limited.” He teased the other slightly, nodding at the other when he mentioned not being able to sleep. “Well then, I’ll be sure not to almost attack you next time. Since you seem to be out on an innocent walk.”
