Day 100
Day 100 is done! I had been trying to figure out what route to do for my final day, I chose my absolute favorite road, Northshore in Burlington, which is part of the Around The Bay Road Race. My expectation of the run was to try and break 20 minutes, on this route and on this day, no way... Not for a lack of trying, but it just wasn't in me. I could list all the excuses I have; not hydrated enough, too much running around at work and getting things ready for the race I work at tomorrow, etc... But what it comes down to is, it just wasn't in me today, I can't feel bad about it because I still ran a really good time that I am proud of myself for on that route. It's rolling hills out and back and I have seen those hills destroy many runners dreams during the Around The Bay as well as training along that road for years. All that matters is I ran my 5km in 21:04 and killed myself doing it. My next challenge in my running career is to break 20 minutes in the 5km, I am damn close after my 20:06 5km about 3 weeks ago so I am going to concentrate on destroying that after giving myself a little break. I am signed up for the Terry Fox run next Sunday and am not sure whether I am doing the 5 or the 10 but either way it'll be great to participate in an event, raise some money for a great cause and to honor one of my running idols. I may not post on here too often any longer, but I am planning on keeping it going as its great to have the blog of the ups and downs of a runner. I'm so glad to be done my 100 day streak and I look forward to crushing my PRs as I have never been faster than I am right now and it's only going to get better from here!
