In Brazil, it's not uncommon to do our groceries once a month. At least the most part of the month needs once a month. It's a tradition that started in the 80s due to a very unstable economy. The inflation was so insane that the prices changed three, four times a day. So people started to buy everything they would need for the whole month in one single day. Trying to guarantee we would have food until the next payment. Probably it's not a phenomenon exclusive to Brazil. But that's a month grocery from a friend of mine. Of course some other things will be acquired again, like bread. Anyway, it was a funny painting to do.
